Description

The Plum Lightpad Smart Dimmer is the most advanced light dimmer ever created. It connects via Wi-Fi and allows you to control your lights from your iPhone from home or anywhere in the world.

Plum Lightpads communicate with each other and together they create a complete lighting control solution for your home.

- The Lightpad has a multi-touch interface. You can control one light, multiple lights or all of your lights from any Lightpad by using one finger, two fingers or three fingers.
- Easily turn off all your lights from any switch as you go to bed or leave the house.
- Create scenes of light to set up lights the way you want them for morning, evening, entertaining and more.
- Create schedules to turn your lights on and off daily, weekly or just once.
- Have your porch lights turn on a dusk and off at dawn
- Have your lights turn on and off while you are away to make it look like you are home.
- Have your bedroom lights slowly illuminate as you wake up each morning
- The Lightpad senses when you approach it and gently glows in your choice of colors.
- Each Lightpad measures the energy consumption of your individual lights and can tell you when you are spending more or saving more on your lights.

Dying ecosystem?

I’m very committed to Plum, have 60+ lightpads, but I’m starting to worry they’re fading away as a company. The app hasn’t been updated in a year, isn’t optimized for the newer iPhone displays, and now they’re not responding to support tickets. At the time of writing, the clocks went back for winter nearly 2 weeks ago, but Plum is still running on summer time, throwing everything out by an hour. The Alexa integration is great, but a lot of the other promised features never materialized.

Still working

I was a little worried there as the Plum app stopped working due to a domain name outage. But it looks like they fixed the issue. So whoever is maintaining the server still running these things, thank you. My entire house runs on Plum lightpads. It’s just a bummer that they didn’t invest in the app more. The sensors packed in these lightpads could do some pretty amazing things.

Maybe, hopefully, one day someone will buy them out and do amazing things with them.

Five stars once the app is updated

I Love my Plum LightPads! The iPhone app that goes with it is mediocre but enough to keep me happy for now. But there is a TON of potential to make the UI smoother and take advantage of iOS 12 and the new “Shortcuts app” features and finally make it compatible with Siri. Please Update this app 🙏🤞🏼
