Miss the Text Reminders

I know it is hard to please everyone, especially when we all have such differing opinions, needs, wants, and or preferences. HOWEVER, the app is terrible!
When I was in college I had the text message reminders and it was great!!! Then I switched from the pill to an IUD. Several years later when I realized the IUD isn’t for me and I went back to pill, I went back to the handy dandy Bedsider. The notifications wouldn’t come through half of the time and the other half of the time I wouldn’t clear the days before notification, so it wouldn’t make a difference when the next notification came through.
I am OCD and have to read texts messages and emails ASAP to clear the notification. It doesn’t bother my OCD when an app (that’s in a group) has a notification that didn’t come through as an alert. I miss the old Bedsider!! Now on to another birth control reminder system....

Love it

I love my Bedsider app. It’s consistent and adorable. Everyday I get a banner reminder at my set time and when I open it I get to read a super cute little message. Today my message was a link to an adorable video about sea lions and it said “you need this video about a sea lion rescue center in your life. Trust us, you need it.” And everyday the message is different and equally as fun, creative, and cute.

The only negative thing I have to say about the app is that the notifications I receive about reminding me to take my pill are not as eye catching as i was hoping. I would recommend making them a little more colorful or creative. Maybe add a text tone option so you get to pick the noise your phone makes when you receive your reminder. And possibly make an option to have the message sent more than once at different set times so there’s no chance of forgetting your pill.

Hugely disappointed

I've never written a review for an app, but felt so overwhelming disappointed with the performance of this app that I felt the need to echo the other reviews listed.

I've used Bedsider text reminders for about 5 years now, and I loved it up to this app creation. Thanks to the original text service, I've only forgotten a pill twice over the past 5 years.

Now over the past several months since this app switch, I've forgotten my pill 6 times. That's a lot in a short amount of time, and I consider myself an extremely mindful and routined person. The app reminders are inconsistent, aren't as eye catching as a text message, and the banner notifications get lost in a sea of other notifications coming into my phone. What was key with the actually text service for me personally was that I would not open the text until I took my pill. That way, the text notification was always there and it was more prevalent given people are always texting/looking at their messages.

My best suggestion would be to offer users the OPTION of SMS text messages or the push notifications, similar to how GroupMe functions. This is your best bet if you want to keep users, otherwise this app is completely useless and I'll be deleting.
