Description

Disclaimer!
Don't use this App for medical decisions. It comes with absolutely no warranty. Use it at your own risk!

You can use nightguard to submit your bg values to the Apple HealthKit. This is disabled by default but can
be enabled in the nightguard app.

Nightguard is an app that displays your blood glucose values from the Nightscout backend.

It is a native iOS App with support for the Apple Watch.
Features are:
- Define a range of acceptable blood glucose values.
- Whenever your values are out of range you will be alerted.
- You can snooze the alerts all the time and for a defined time period.
- You can reactivate the alerts all the time.
- You can activate alerts if the values are rising or falling too fast.
- The app displays yesterdays values as an overlay chart. This way you have a hint about how your values could behave in the future.
- Tune your basal rates with the statistics function to overlay different days
- Sync your bg values to HealthKit (optional)

For the alarms to work the app has to be active. So you can enable a screen lock that keeps the app running all night long.

Have a look at www.nightscout.info for more information about how to setup your own Nightscout backend.

I like the app

It does some nice visualization with the data that is very helpful. It was better when the watch app worked. It quit working for me with the last update.

It was updated and the complication started working again. This is such a great app, thanks for all your hard work!

Developer Response ,

Try V3.9.1. This should improve updates on the watch.

Less than 24 hours after installation, watch app crashes when opened

***UPDATE***
This issue had nothing to do with the app. The cause turned out to be a non-standard implementation of Nightscout. Nightguard is fantastic when used with a proper Nightscout implementation. My apologies to the developer for forgetting about this review (until I received notification of the developer’s response).

Rating changed to 5 stars.
***UPDATE***

Can’t get the watch app to work now. The complication displays this: ??:?? --- When tapping the complication, the app either doesn’t open at all, or opens briefly, tries to refresh the graph, then crashes. Power resetting the watch (multiple times) hasn’t helped. Meanwhile, the phone app is working fine. Apple Watch Series 8 WatchOS 9.3 (20S648)

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your feedback 😉

Matthew Stathis ,

Overall works well but one very annoying problem...

Despite disabling the “missed readings” toggle in the alarms preferences, the Apple Watch app still constantly vibrates every few seconds to alert of missed readings (even if I’m not wearing the watch). I understand that I can snooze this (ie. at night when my nightscout setup is recharging) but it’d be nice if I didn’t have to manually snooze the watch app every night when in theory it shouldn’t be alerting me of anything at all...

Developer Response ,

Hi Matthew. I you are using the "missed readings" toggle, you shouldn't be bothered by missed readings. Even on the watch. Does this still happens on the latest version? You can file a bug report here:
