Description

If learning to read music is your goal Solfeggio is the app for you!

- Note reading Quiz -
- Key Signature Quiz - Major, Minor - (only in non-free version of solfeggio)

Uses a smart algorithm for a faster learning curve, in simple words, wrong given answers will appear more often to help remember them faster.

After four years of teaching piano and music to children, I found that for them, the hardest part in learning how to play was learning how to read and understand a new language. The best way to learn a new language is through immersion and repetition. This is where Solfeggio was born. After giving the children an easy to learn and fun to play game, their understanding and recognition of the notes grew exponentially. I soon came to realize that this app had the potential to help all budding piano players, young and not so young, to learn to read notes and gain confidence in their playing.

Unlike other music apps, Solfeggio is using a smart algorithm. It keeps count of correct and incorrect answers and as the player progresses, the notes or key signature that are harder for the player to remember repeat more often. Solfeggio helps players to push past their weak points and become proficient in all areas of music reading.

Errors here and there

Looks like it'd be a nice app to use for studying. I'm still finding problems every so often. One error is the placement of flats in the key signature in treble clef. The app use the order of bass clef flats in the treble clef. Really bad if you want an perfect A on a test.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the comment, this helped me track down the bug. The issue has been fixed in version 1.3.0
The error in placement was due to changing the font size in the iPhone accessibility preferences to anything different than default, which affected the positions of element on the music staff (since elements are actually a font). Something I overlooked at the time. Sorry about that.
