CallRanger: Block spam callers 4+

Initially I thought this is a scam. The extension doesn’t show up in settings no matter how many times I restart the program or reboot the phone. However, after I install another scam blocking app, it magically show up in the extension. And it is working perfectly fine afterwards.

I’ve been getting hammered with telemarketing from one specific state, so was looking for an app that would block calls from specific area codes. Unfortunately, this app is not up for the challenge. Calls were still being received. I thought possibly I had the app set up incorrectly so I reached out to “customer support” which is an email located in Greece. I reached out twice and there was no response. Completely ghosted. I’ve already filed a complaint with Apple and now leaving a review as a warning to all others hoping to find an app to help reduce spam calls. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

Dear JJ1990J8, please follow the instructions below to setup you blocking settings:

1) Make sure that the Call Ranger extension is enabled by navigating to the iOS Settings -> Phone -> Call blocking & identification.
2) Open the CallBlocker app, navigate on the Settings page and make sure that the "Block unwanted calls" switch is ON.
3) Tap on the “Range number list" option (Range Blocking) and enter the country code prefix of the number that you want to block (e.g. for the number "+1 123 456 7899" add "1" on the textfield), tap "Next".
4) Enter α phone number that you wish to block (e.g. you want to block all calls from "+1 123 XXX ΧΧX” (X is a wildcard and stands for every digit), then add "123456789” on the textfield) and tap "Next".
5) Select the number range that you want to block by tapping on the respective option (e.g. for the number "+1 123 456 789” using the 7-digit option, it will block all ranges of numbers from "+1 120 000 000" to "+1 123 999 999" which means 10,000,000 million combinations.
Then wait until the process finishes and this will take some time, it’s totally normal and depends on your device speed

Call Ranger for IOS works great and allows wildcards to block any combination of phone numbers, including up to 5 complete area codes.

Unfortunately, blocking is for PHONE CALLS only, the app does not block text messages.

If SPAMMERS are SPOOFING their CALLER ID NUMBERS and you want to block calls from a large range(s) of numbers, this is the app you need.

Call Ranger provides a refreshing online experience. Questions sent via email are answered quickly and respectfully.

In sum… A good product, a very fair one-time price, and the customer service is fantastic.
