HiSmart Air 4+

Followed the steps to connect the “smart” portable ACs to our WiFi, but continue to get a vague error message after completing the last step. The error message reads, “Prompt - Connect selected AP failed, Whether to retry”. And no, that is not a typo on my part…that was the poor wording that the programmers of this company decided to use to describe whatever this error was and why it is happening.

Although our wireless router shows us that the ACs are connected to our home network (since we can see device traffic), the app states that no connection was made and does not allow us to complete the process.

We have tried to connect via 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz separately, just to be thorough…and connection cannot be made either way despite a strong internet speed connection.

If you happen to run into a similar issue and are looking for some help, I have bad news…there is none! From the main menu of the app there is an option for “support”. But sadly, any form of support is the last thing you’ll find here. Instead, the support menu just brings you to a screen that reads, “please contact the local service provider”. And you can google away like I did, but there are no error message guides in the instruction manual or in any public communication that the company has shared.

The ACs themselves work well, but unfortunately you won’t be able to utilize the “smart” functionality since this app is a dumb piece of sh*t.

Bought an AC which works great except for the wifi connect feature. Instructions from the manual are easy to understand but this app does not even recognize or support the AC I bought so it makes the wifi connect feature useless. The last update for this app was 2 years ago and if I could give this a lower rating I would as there is no point to getting it since it doesn’t work. Setting up an account to use the app is a hassle already and after making an account you can’t do anything else. I’m surprised it’s even still available since it already has such a low rating. I gave it a shot hoping I might have a different experience from others but should have listened and not bothered with this app. I hope that if this app continues to remain available that something will be done to update it. Until then, don’t download this app.

I wish I could rate with negative stars. Just had this 70pt dehumidifier installed in my crawlspace and after many failed attempts to connect with the device, reboots of my router, resets of my phone, reinstall of this app.....I now cannot get the device to come back up in my WiFi networks. The entire selling point on this was the “smart” feature. I NEED to be able to connect with it or someone will be required to constantly go down to check on it. I’m calling the company who used this brand, I’m telling them of the issues. These units are not cheap ... and for the price paid, every feature should work. We purchase an expensive unit to be met with a ONE STAR/ NON FUNCTIONING APP! Very disappointed.

Come on developers! Can’t you fix these flaws in the app? If not, Hisense needs to pull “smart” from their products & in their ads because they DO NOT work.
