Description

Sanibel Bound?

The City of Sanibel wants you to enjoy your time on the Island. During peak season, Sanibel Island experiences daily heavy on-bound traffic congestion from 8 a.m. to noon and heavy off-bound traffic between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m.

On a weekly basis during peak season, Saturday traffic volumes are the highest, and traffic volumes are the lightest on Sundays and Tuesdays.

This app allows you to enjoy live feeds from traffic cameras stationed across Sanibel Island so you can make the most out of your time with us!

Other useful tips for getting around on Sanibel Island:
• Avoid driving on and off the Island during these peak times

• Plan in advance to travel around the Island by foot and bike

• Stay on Island – have dinner and shop on Island to avoid traffic delays

• Check the City of Sanibel website for traffic updates at www.MySanibel.com

Very helpful

It’s great to be able to see the traffic at all of the major intersections; not only to know when it’s safe to drive, but also which routes are best.

It's a good start!

Needs more cameras. 2 at Donax and Periwinkle. Cameras at Periwinkle and Causeway set like the other end at Tarpon Bay. Is there a reason the parking meters on the island can't be linked the the app to display the number of cars in the Beach lots? One would think that should be an easy link since there already have a secure link for credit card payments. Some other cameras on the Causeway Islands would be helpful for weekend visitors too. The link should also be used to inform people of events that occur on the island. Sunday Farmers Market. Shell Fair. Taste of the Island. A calendar of Island events!

Show if traffic cops are present

These cameras could be a great traffic management tool. But views are needed at Lindgren to show if back up exists, and views showing if traffic cops are on duty so one can plan where to make turns onto congested streets. Really happy cameras are on mobile apps. Now let's make these cameras really management tools.
