Companion plants assist other plants in many ways. They may attract insects away from plants thus relieving the plant of that stress. They may attract predator insects which affords the same result. Companion plants may provide physical assistance in the form of shade or support for growing parts. They may also assist in making certain minerals available in the soil that help that plant. Certain plants may also assist in improving the flavour of others.
As part of companion planting, knowing which plants attract or repel which particular pest is useful to know. This forms a way of biologically controlling insects that may be affecting your plants.

The interface has been improved to make the app friendlier to use. Finding the plants and influences has been improved through searching and filtering. Both minerals and influences have been colour coded to help identify what their effects are.

I've been looking for some kind of computer program or app that maps out companion vegetables for almost a year. So thankful I came across this one!! Some info is needed for some of the fruits/veggies/herbs that are still blank, but this is what I've been searching for!!

A thorough and complete cross reference. Includes insects, nutrients, helpful herbs and flowers. Quickly find out if your pepper plants play nice with your potatoes!

Gardening requires so much more than just companion planting.

That is quite correct. Gardening is multi-faceted. This app focuses on companion planting and related ideas, as the title would suggest. For gardeners that would like to follow traditional moon planting I have an app that focuses on those influences. Success with your gardening.
