Fun bite-sized gameplay

Simple rules and control that you can instantly get the hang of. All characters and blessings are unique in their own ways making a lot of replay value. The game is free to play friendly and it’s art style and rogue like feel is simply charming. Lots of double edged swords like sacrificing your health for attack speed(axe blessing) or longer range but with the price of easier to get stuck between monsters(archer passive). Bunch of randomness so sometimes you will end up with overpowered blessing and other times you will get garbage. If you’re concerned about the controls which people keep complaining about, it’s really not that bad. If you don’t like swiping, you can just tap instead. There’s sensitivity too for you to personally adjust if needed. The control was a breeze for me to handle and I think it will be for most as well. Most runs don’t last too long so it’s quick to play through. Definitely a five star and you should give this game a try!

Game deserves to be 5 star... EXCEPT

It literally ends up playing like an ad watching simulator later in the game due to the sheer amount of things that one shot you. You hit the boss several times, inevitably it does a room wide attack, you can't do anything, you hit watch ad to revive with 3 hp, luckily all the bosses' attacks do more than 3 hp of damage. Rinse and repeat. Massive grind to upgrade anything. The game has great potential but is heavily limited by this. Then you accidentally hit give up (because it is oh so close to the revive button) and all the time you spent is wasted. Then you decide to delete the game. If you want to pay up, the revives initially are cheap, costing 1 hourglass, and you can get 45 hourglasses for $7.99, reasonable right? Except it very rapidly ramps up to costing 20 per revive. I appreciate the game a lot, it's very cool, but the way revives are handled and how many things outright kill you (and you WILL die, somethings are entirely unavoidable), just make the game as I mentioned earlier, an ad watching simulator. Hit something n number of times, do as well as you can, get cheesed, hit watch ad to revive, switch to doing something else, come back, repeat. Riveting gameplay. Later it gets to a point where you probably get 5-10 seconds of survival time per ad you watch lol.

Good, clean, addictive fun

I’ve played this game for about a month now and in that time I’ve logged 25 hours of gameplay. This game isn’t easy, especially at first. The palace seemed downright impossible the first few times I managed to reach there. Don’t give up! The variety of characters to unlock means there’s definitely one that will suit your play style.

Each run is unique because of how many blessings there are that change how the game behaves in small (and sometimes not so small) ways! I always grab every blessing I can in hopes of discovering a new synergy.

There are a number of great anti-frustration features included here. Got your eyes on a specific rare character but the summon seems to avoid it like the plague? For a fairly reasonable price you can manually unlock it. The fact that all the summoning and upgrading uses the readily available coins means you never have need to pay real money. The ability to “ban” certain blessings is also great for when there’s just that one that really annoys you.

This game doesn’t have many bugs, and the ones I’ve encountered aren’t exactly major; the biggest being that sometimes all the achievements will seemingly re-unlock and you’ll be forced to watch all of the Game Center banners go by again.

Overall, I cannot recommend this game enough. I know I certainly would play a sequel if they made one.
