Really fun, but...

So if you grew up in the late 80’s/90’s and loved comic books and superhero’s, this is a great time waster and fun too see the older style art pop up, and remember the different storylines you read or saw over the years. The only issue I have is that unless your willing to pay for new cards, after the first couple days, opportunities for free coins are pretty scarce and when they do give them it’s about enough to get you 3 cards, of which 2 you’ll already have. I love comics and marvel in particular, but I’m not going to put real money down for a digital card on an app that could go away at any time. If you want to pay and can afford too more power too you and I’m sure it goes atleast in some way towards new content on the app. But for the player who want the nostalgia but not the bill, particularly in this trying time with so many people put of work. Why not have some mini games you could play to earn additional coins and more frequent bonuses for times logged in and time spent playing. Anything helps. Still love the artwork!

Had potential, money buys all the good cards

I’ve been playing the “game” for 2 months now. I loved collecting cards as a kid and when I saw this game I downloaded it for myself and my son. I want to preface this review; I have no problem spending money in a game when it’s worth while. My son has 50+ Fortnite skins... In this game you spend money to get diamonds, which then you can use to guarantee that you get one of the super rare cards. I’m fine with that concept, except they don’t limit how many packs each person can get! You’ve got the whales who will buy up 10-15 of the rare cards literally within the first 10 minutes of them going on sale and they sell out in an instant. Then they want you to trade half your collection for the card they just bought. It’s a flawed system and I’m tired of it. Too hard to scrape together the “good cards” if you don’t time your life around the exact moment the cards release. And today; they released a very exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy set, one I gladly would have spent diamonds on, but because of a flaw in their system it wouldn’t even show me the packs! And I actually happened to be on right when they were released!!! I’m tired of that sort of non-sense, I’ll be moving myself and my son onto another app. It had so much potential to be fun, but ends up just being a cash grab for the fans that will spend $100s or more a month to get digital cards and lord them over the kids.

Fun way to scratch that collectors itch

I grew up collecting cards, comics, coins, stamps… you name it. I’ll admit, that at first, I thought the idea of a digital collection was silly and too abstract. But the more i thought about it, where are my physical cards? Tucked away in binders and boxes. While there was always something satisfying about putting those last cards for a set in a binder, there is also something kinda liberating about allowing the app to sort, organize, and store your collection. Also, being able to trade w people to complete sets is very fun and satisfying. Granted, you have to weed through a handful of greedy vultures on the trade market, there are plenty of honest, even generous ones out there. Lastly, you don’t have to break the bank to play this. There is the option to spend, if you see a set that really catches your eye, but plenty of fun cards and complete collections can be had by accumulating free coins, fusing cards, and completing challenges.

Ultimately, a fun way to pass time on the train, the waiting room, wherever you mess around w your phone.. except that you actually feel the sense of owning some assets w some value at the end of the day, as opposed to just high scores in a game.
