Pretty Decent!

I had the Eversense implant CGM, but the transmitter technology wasn’t the best. I recently changed back to the FreeStyle Libre sensor, but missed the constant glucose values. I got the NightRider to supplement that continual reading technology, and it’s pretty darn good. The UI is better than some glucose apps, the connection between NightRider and my phone was easy.

The only thing I don’t like about this App is that it either doesn’t connect to Apple Health, or if it does, I can’t figure out where to turn that connect on. So... developers... if you could, PLEASE get this app to connect with Apple Health!

When it works it’s great

I bought mine over a ear ago. Right out the box it worked fine with my iPhone 13 Pro Max phone. I use this with a Libre 2 sensor. I did try using the Libre Reader device. The Reader worked fine as long as I remembered to take it with me all the time. I would forget it on my way to work out picking up lunch somewhere. I went back to using my phone app and wanted something that made the Libre readings send to my phone like the Dexcom does. My insurance refused to give me the Dexcom option so I bought theBluCon Nightrider to try back in 2021. It worked great for all of 2022. Since March of this year I have had issues with it not connecting to my phone or it will connect but not show any of the readings from my Libre2 sensor. Sometimes the Libre2 sensor stopped working so I would remove it and put on a new sensor. The BluCon still doesn’t work all the time still. It’s out of warranty but support has been great working with me. Reboot your phone and disconnect Bluetooth and have it forget the BluCon then restart your phone, put a new battery in the BluCon then reconnect it and the Libre2 sensor and pray the BluCon works. It doesn’t till after the 6th time if I’m lucky. It knows when the 1 year warranty runs out.

Night rider and App.

After being inundated with emails touting the direct to watch connectivity, I bought a Night Rider. After some back and forth about delivery with customer care, I received delivery. Luckily it was received after the software update a few days ago to support the US 14 day sensor. If not, it would not have worked at all. Per customer care, the direct to watch functionality for the US 14 day sensor should be available in a few weeks. Nothing about this is mentioned anywhere in their marketing materials. I only bought this for the direct to watch function. Charging $25 for shipping a $9 priority mail envelope is also obscene.

Update July 17,2020

Decided to give it another try. The direct to watch functionality works. The app was installed with the complication. I added the complication to my watch face and it works as expected. Then the app pops up on your screen. I have still to find a way to see my watch face on wrist lift or crown press.... the open app is always displayed. It appears to run as an ACTIVITY which on Apple’s software is always displayed with wrist lift on. A crown press to required to get back to your watch fact.... which displays your data via the complication. Dear developers, what am I missing?

Developer Response ,

Please install the latest version of the app to see readings on the Apple watch, it was released last month, sorry for the confusion. Please reach out to support to get the refund of shipping. Could you please provide an update? If the device is not working for you as expected please send it back for refund within next 2 weeks.
