I'm somewhat of a newcomer to the shmup genre, but lately I've been playing Tengai, GUNBIRD2, and any other retro shmup I could get my hands on whether console or mobile, but this game is perfect for me, I love the feudal atmosphere of Japan, and the crazy pace of the game, and the music is good too.
