Excellent App and here’s why

I will admit I had problems at first. It didn’t work for me. I didn’t read the list of supported modem list first. My fault, always read the full listing.

So I bought a router that was on the list. I still had problems trying to get up and running. Stuart Gray was very patient with me even though he is dealing with hardship in his own family. At first I thought the customer service was just very bad, but I forgot that we all have lives outside of our workplace. He did reach out to me and walked me through my connection problems, giving great details and clear instructions. I was able to get into my nighthawk within 24 hours.

I am now able to use the app with ease. I can see who is on my network, shutdown any devices I don’t want on at any given time and turn them back on too. This gives me full control of my home network. This is exactly what I wanted. Thank you Stuart for the great app and the excellent customer service. I pray your son fully recovers and your family find peace again.

Did you get app working with your netgear xr500?
Wifi blocker will not work if you’re logged into router by other means (web or other app).
If you got it working can you kindly remove bold fake text and update review.
I’ve tested it and all working fine with the xr500 using latest app on App Store and latest xr500 update, Let me know explicit error you get if you still can’t get it working.
Lack email replies previous was my youngest son was in hospital with serious epilepsy for last 6 months and developed in last year, and app last thing on my mind. We’ve got his epilepsy under control over last few weeks finally (touching wood he’s out the woods).

I just retested the xr500 and all working here.
I got the ‘router detection error page’ error when I was also logged into the xr500 web page from another device, but logging out of web page or other app will detect router fine with latest firmware and latest app.
Was this error you got? Please try again and let me know if this is issue or another issue.
If you’ve upgraded changed routers you need to reset app between router upgrades or app will not work also as locked to previous model.

Sorry you had bad experience.
It’s probable the xr500 firmware has updated and the app needs updated, I’ll do that today as just finished fixing other netgear models and will try keep up to date with firmware updates more often, thanks for letting me know xr500 needs updated. I’ll update today. New build due out over weekend or Monday.
I’ve not been working on the app for over 6 months in last while due to family issue that’s all resolved now and playing catchup. Sorry I must have lost missed your email and unsure your previous model. Apologies. Not a fake app it’s just a dynamic app that on some firmware updates the app can sometimes need updating and at present I need reviews / emails to state router model and problem to respond faster.

Hi there, Have you emailed support@WiFi-Blocker.com yet? Please email us and we can look to resolve your issue. It looks like you may have a router we don't currently support. We support the Verizon Fios Gateway,
We can add in most routers, so please email in before stating its crap. We understand its a bit crap if you buy this without checking the supported router list further down the description [we will move the check supported routers comment to the very top next release!], or crap if setup doesn't complete successfully (theres a few gotcha's for most routers, i.e. ensure your upgraded latest firmware, ensure your not on the guest network, ensure your router setup wizard is completed [admin password set etc], its understandable, but please email in your router make and model, problem you have, and we can usually always help. Amazing!

I never write reviews for apps- but i had to say something about this one. I’ve been trying to find a legitimate way to limit the amount of time my teenager spends on the WiFi for a really long time. I stumbled across this app and tried it... works amazing! Super simple to set up and use- it was very effective. If your router is compatible- I highly recommend this purchase.

Useless App. Don’t buy

Update: This is still a useless app. The list still says my router is covered, but it has been four months and the features that they talk about are still not available for my router. I have a very common Netgear router. The list of “covered” routers means nothing. Don’t buy.

I bought this app to control my kids’ WiFi access at bedtime. The description says you can do that. They make a point of telling you to check the list of covered routers. I did that. I have a Netgear 7000 router. It’s on the list. I bought the app. When I tried to set up bedtimes, I got a message stating that this feature will be available with a “future” update. Sure it will. Meanwhile, I paid for an app that is useless to me.
