App & thermostat are both horrible!
Major bugs & flaws with app that are beyond irritating! The app freezes up, flickers & maybe allows you to use it once or twice (if you’re lucky) before having to sign in AGAIN. The schedules on app tend to change on their own or do not save if changed by user. Our thermostat stopped working just after 3-4 months, so our AC company that installed it, had to install a new one. They also stated that back in the day (before everything went high tech) that COR products were really good. But not so much now, considering the amount of time they spend repairing and/or replacing their thermostats. We spent $24,000 + on 2 new AC units, new duct work, etc. for our 2 story home. I should be able to grab my cell phone in the middle of the night to turn the temperature up/down as needed, quickly & with ease. But instead I end up having to get up out of bed to do so, because the app continuously signs me out & won’t accept my log in info...unless I mess with the app for 15-20 minutes. Then it’s impossible for me to fall back asleep! I normally don’t write reviews, but feel that I should...to help warn & save others FROM A LOT OF STRESS & FRUSTRATIONS!
Terrible App
Worst experience ever in trying to install and setup on WiFi. First, the COR thermostats are extremely buggy! We have 3 and all 3 had completely different issues during setup. Would not connect, showing wrong sync codes, drop WiFi without reason, would not find the device.... I spent the better part of about 4-hrs just getting all 3 thermostats to connect to WiFi and register on the app.
I have spent another 5-6 hours over several weeks working to get the app programmed. I have completed the schedule programming countless times only to see random times/temps saved for a specific setting. All looks great on screen, click save, go back in and the schedule is incorrect. After many many many times I finally got the schedule to “save” correctly now the thermostats have a mind of their own. They turn on/off randomly, display “cool to” temperatures that are completely different from what’s programmed into the app. On the thermostat itself I can hit the mode button then all of a sudden the set temp will update to the correct setting. It’s like the connection between the app program and thermostat are not in sync.
This setup is completely useless, the technology does NOT work. I tried to transition over to Sensi or Nest but unfortunately I’m stuck. We are in a new house and all the HVAC is proprietary Carrier including remote sensors (that run back to the thermostat) that require CÔR thermostats.
Extremely frustrated and disappointed.
Worst experience setting up connection
Côr timed out again. And again. And again. Sometimes you have to completely start over setting up your account. Sometimes you come back to try again the next day and everything it said didn’t take yesterday took and it’s working. Then you get the spinning wheel for an hour - AGAIN and AGAIN on each screen to try and set up the temp you want in the am and pm.
Never got past that. What if I want more than a 6 am temp and a get home from work temp?
Froze it up once setting it up and called tech support. They told me you cannot reset the thermostat you have to schedule a service call. If you get to the pin stage and your app freezes and the thermostat counts to 8 and gets frozen there for a whole day don't call tech support they have no idea how to help you - push the start button for 6 seconds and it restarts. Hope that helps you tech support.
Took 3 days to get to set up schedule and quitting for the night.
