I go through spells of using this …

FotoDa is a lot of fun and can be addictive at times. I hadn't used it since the last update a year ago, and the real-time editing spy feature looked appealing, but it did nothing. I'd like it to work, but I don't care much about it, so that’s not the difficulty I'm experiencing. My situation pertains to selecting what pictures to use. In the past, I think I could pile a bunch of images into an album of my camera roll and then go to my presorted folder to select the photographs I wanted to use. Now, I don't know where the photos FotoDa can use come from, nor am I sure of how I'd add more. I stitched together a few images for the sole purpose of giving them to this app, so having them be inaccessible by FotoDa is discouraging.

Great app

I would love to see some upgrades to this app because I think the images that come out of it are fantastic for creating abstract digital art or for inspiration for a painting. This Maybe one of the most visually appealing abstract image creator that I’ve used. There just aren’t a lot of settings and controls, so I am hoping the developer will expand the capabilities. If so I imagine I will be using it a lot! And will change my rating to 5 stars ✨

Slow, buggy, essential

And actually brilliant. My most used app. At least half of the results are disappointing and I have to resort to browsing Twitter while waiting for the magic to appear, but it’s all worth it — over 1000 startling keepers over the past month.

I wish it weren’t so easy to accidentally dismiss the new images when they appear, and I’d like to be able to select one photo, then let the app take over and surprise me. Fewer bugs and greater speed would also be nice. Meanwhile, I’m madly in love with the current version.

Update: dev contacted me, turns out there's an undo function that allows you to recover a dismissed image. Solves the problem I mentioned above.

Thanks for the review @lumierefl. Glad you are enjoying FotoDa.

I'm working to improve speed and fix known bugs. Not sure you noticed, but there is 1 level of undo hidden within the spiral button... there is a thumbnail that you can click to go back to the previously generated image :D
