Mystery Tales: House of Others 9+

I am still playing this game and have decided to buy. The puzzles give you a choice of easy or hard. Since I’m not the sharpest pencil in the box, I pick easy, and they are. Great story line and brilliant colors. Lots to look for in each scene. Butterflies, morphing items and tarot cards, oh my. Great job to a team of creativity. Key West Jessa

I have never written a review of anything before in my life, but I absolutely love these mystery based hidden object games and there is so much good stuff to say about this game, and some negatives. First of all, the graphics in this game are incredible. The interaction with the characters is such a huge positive. The graphics are FANTASTIC. I played a game called the 13th skull years ago, and it was the best hidden object mystery game i have ever played. This game has so many of the great variables that I loved about that game, namely amazing graphics and lots of interesting game character interactions. The story was relatively interesting, but it was way too easy and very SHORT. had I known that it was as easy as it is, I would have played on the most difficult level. I mention that for other avid HOS players, definitely play it at the hardest level. The positives far outweigh the negatives. I just wish it was more challenging and longer. I hope that the developers make more games similar to this one in graphics, character interaction, and mini games. Just with more of a challenge and length. Overall, WELL WORTH it for HOS fanatics and I look forward to more in the future.

The game itself was okay, it had promise. Yes, it was creepy. There was attention to detail in background objects. Most of the gameplay and mini games were fun, if unoriginal. The glasses and some of the kitsch factor added a different, if not completely unique spin. Four star game.

But 1 star deducted for storyline. Rant is coming. Really and truly, devs, enough with the poor, misunderstood, serial killer already. Honestly, I don’t really care why the guy is a creep, what turned him into one, and all that. I’m supposed to be solving crimes and righting wrongs, not finding out what made someone a psycho or feeling empathy for him. He is a sick, cold-blooded killer with some weird ideas. And this isn’t the first of its kind...there is this theme echoed in a few recent games. Just stop with it. Don’t glamorize the killer, and maybe there will be fewer idiots who try it for real.

I said my piece. Next game with this trend will get a 1 star rating from me. And until next time, hope all the reviewers keep well.
