Description

Reloading Assistant is the perfect companion for your ammo reloading needs. The reloading calculator is used to determine the cost to reload each round, breaking each component down and displaying its cost.

The reloading recipe viewer/tracker/journal is used to get load data (or recipes) for hundreds of different calibers. You can also add custom loads, as well as track how well each round performed by rating the accuracy and power of the load.

Additionally, the reloading journal allows you to keep track of every round that your reload as well how well the load performed by providing automatic calculations from chronograph data.

Customize even more by selecting your preferred units of measurements and adding custom calibers.

Featuring over 31,000 recipes from:
Accurate, Alliant, Hodgdon, Somchem, and Vihtavuori.

Challenging

I have read every written word of the instructions and still have no idea how the logic behind this is supposed to work. The journal part is worthless and does not work AT ALL. It says you must make selections to do things but does not give you the option to select anything. I have tried for three days and have found no real value to this app other than to be aggravated. If it were free then it would be worth what I paid.
I have amended my review title from “awful” to “challenging”. With help from the developer I have been able to do a little more with this app. But as the title states it is a challenge to understand the way to navigate and use it.

Developer Response ,

The journal does work. As stated in the help documentation, to add and entry, you must go to the recipe viewer, select and view the recipe you wish to add journal entry for (such that you are now looking at an individual recipe), then below the ballistic data there is a button to view/edit journal entries. You will then be able to add/edit/delete entries specific to the recipe you have selected.
When the journal viewer is opened from the main screen, or from the Recipe viewer (where you are seeing many loads for a given caliber) the app does not have a specific reference to a caliber and a load recipe. I presume this is the situation where you are trying to add a journal entry. Although I understand you expect to be given an option to enter all your load information again, the design of this app is that you must select your recipe first, in order to link the recipe to the journal entry and to minimize the need for adding duplicate data.
My testers have confirmed that this functionality is still working as expected. If you believe that the above functionality is broken on your specific device, please reach out to us at www.polycompsol.com, and we will be happy to assist you with this.

Thank you.

Great solution to any reloading bench

Not sure about some of the other reviews here; for me, this was real easy to learn and start using. I was up and transferring my most recent load journal records in about 20 minutes.

It may be easier for mid-to-veteran reloaders. If you have been reloading for 3+ months, you already have established a “system” for record keeping. This app will simplify that without the cramps in the hand. It won’t necessarily “teach” you good record keeping- you gotta kind of know what you’re doing to begin with. Anyway- I love this app and it is exactly what I was looking for.

Start with a given recipe (or heck add your own with the +) then fill it in like you would any paper log. The GREAT thing about this app is it ties in reloading manual, my custom cost records and easy to enter chrono data in the journal to record performance of a specific recipe.

Only thing it needs now is an inventory counter to keep track of rounds loaded vs. rounds expended. THAT would make this a 6 star app for me.

Disappointing to say the least.

So I paid the 3.99 for this app thinking it would allow me to track and log my personal loads. It does not do that at all. This is very disappointing to a new re-loader who is trying to use technology to help track my recipes the date I created them and how they performed. I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 because I can see my cost analysis compared to purchasing factory ammo and there are recipes in there that will be helpful. But I wouldn’t waste money on it again. On top of everything else, it is not user friendly at all. Oh well, lesson learned.
