Description

HueZapper is an easy and intuitive app for Philips Hue smart lights.

Forget complicated interfaces that require navigating through several screens just to find the light you want to turn on or off: with HueZapper your iPhone or iPad becomes a remote control surface where buttons and sliders allow instant access to your lights.

Better yet, you can easily customize it to suit your preferences and needs. Organize your lights into zones and rearrange them as it makes most sense for you.

Quickly and effortlessly turn on and off, adjust brightness and color of one or multiple lights simultaneously. Features "smart dimming" that feels like adjusting an incandescent or halogen lamp.

Easily capture current light settings as a scene that can be recalled at any time at the tap of a button. Assign names and custom icons to scenes to find them in the blink of an eye.

Define "linked lights" sets, so multiple lights can be controlled with one touch, as if they were wired to the same switch.

The full-featured version is available as in-app purchase. You can try HueZapper for free and upgrade if you like it.

Requirements: this app requires a Philips Hue bridge and compatible LED light bulbs, strips or other lighting accessories.

Great but missing one thing

I am likely not the normal user of this application however I have a used case that is not being captured with this decent application. I have nearly 100 hue devices and that means I have two bridges which span different levels on my home. It would be nice to have a quick process to switch bridges seeing as they are IP range assigned. Or in a perfect world bring it all together in one control. Thanks for doing abs like this. It’s nice to see developers creating something valuable for the hue system.

Developer Response ,

Hello, thanks for the appreciation of our work. Handling of multiple bridges or a large number of connected lights, like in your case, is something that was considered and could come in the future as "advanced features". At the moment, however, the focus is on building an app optimized for the typical consumer use cases. Stay tuned...

Good app. Easy to group lights. Developer responsive

App is good. Hoping for some new features like multi bridge support and device configuration built into settings page

Thanks

Just paid 4 bucks to be a beta tester

I can see what the developer is trying to accomplish (and is what I came to this app looking for which I why I was so excited to shell out money) but it’s just not there yet

I can’t set up a zone with more than 5 lights? Ridiculous!

I actually need to set up 2 separate scenes to turn all lights in a zone on and off? (Otherwise I would have to select each individual light each and every time) It’s not really that hard to set up but shouldn’t an all on/off switch be standard?

I can’t dim my normal (non color) bulbs? I can certainly do it with the physical switches you based your design on!

I loved the idea and thinking it was exactly what I needed I gladly paid for the full version but I didn’t get what I was expecting.

My advice, wait for the developer to offer a full, time based, demo and then see if it’s what you’re looking for

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your interest in HueZapper. The current limitation of 5 lights per zone is clearly stated before you upgrade and is a design choice in order to have all buttons always visible and available. If you have a large number of lights, it might make sense to split your rooms into distinct zones or you can "link" lights. It is possible to switch on and off all lights without creating scenes for that, as well as dimming any type of bulb. Please consult the User Guide inside the app and if you still need help don't hesitate to contact support@huezapper.com.
