Description

Phyn lets you speak the language of water.

From the free Phyn app you can understand how much water your family uses and where they are using it the most. Get alerted the minute a leak issue occurs and run diagnostic "Plumbing Checks" to proactively catch tiny leaks before they become big problems.

PHYN SMART WATER ASSISTANT

Leak alerts:
SMS and push notifications alert you at the first sign of a possible issue. Take action by connecting to a HomeAdvisor plumber in minutes through the app.

Plumbing Checks:
Turn off your water at the main and run Phyn’s Plumbing Check feature. In minutes Phyn will detect pinhole leaks and poor seals in your water system.

Water Use Plus:
Track and view your water use daily and monthly to get ahead of your water costs, and see how your home compares to others. Over time, Phyn learns your system and communicates your water usage down to each fixture. See every water event in your home so you can teach Phyn about your water use.

Pre-Freeze Warnings:
Phyn’s patented pressure sensing sees the ice crystals forming in your pipes before they have a chance to freeze and burst, giving you precious time to take action and avoid damage.

Smart Home Integrated: Use voice commands to learn about your water use. Phyn works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. And with IFTTT you can have Phyn trigger actions with other smart home devices.

Manage multiple properties
Monitor water use and receive leak alerts for up to 6 properties from one account in the Phyn app.

PHYN PLUS SMART WATER ASSISTANT + SHUTOFF

Reliable Unit and App

I Installed Phyn Plus in my house a few years ago. Its a great reliable unit. It’s nice to see datas on my app on to what’s going on with my house plumbing and the electronic shut off valve comes in handy. Checks my plumbing for any leaks daily with pressure reading data report. This is a great investment for my house. Recently I had an issue, I notice after taking a hot shower within 10-15 minutes if i open any of my faucets around the house its purging a lot of water for 3-5 seconds and then slows down to normal flow afterwards which is not a normal behavior for your plumbing at all. So then i went on the phyn app right away to see whats going on. i watched the app after taking a shower the pressure goes from 50psi to 80psi which that high of a pressure is not healthy for your plumbing and appliances. So i did some research on what could cause that and I found my water heater expansion tank has failed and replacement is needed. Bottom line is this unit has helped me gather those data in my plumbing without going out and put a manual pressure etc etc.. Am very happy with this unit.

App is no longer good

This App and devise were once top of the line but some software updates have made the app all but useless and has left us searching for a new devise and app to go along. When you get notifications it automatically shuts off before you can even read what is going on (watering plants in the summer? Too bad water is getting cut off). Want to stay dined into your account? Too bad it no longer allows you to do that. We have a auto fill on our pool which will pull a few gallons at a time. The app thinks this is a leak even when we tell it we know what’s going on and each time we have to sign back in with every notification. I have deleted the app and reinstalled hoping to correct it but no luck. You must sign in every time you want to look at it and it does not allow apple to save your sign in or use face recognition. It use too but no longer after update.

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for this sort of technology.

Great and reliable device, lacking only 1 thing

I’ve been using the Phyn plus valve for well over a year and half. It has successfully caught several forgotten running faucets and several stuck solenoid sprinkle valves. It was even used to counter a misread on the utility water valve that was read incorrectly twice over 6 months. Since the utility only knows what they wrote down I would have had nothing to argue with. Using the data from the Phyn valve I was able to show the misreads and I was even able to prove the misread was actually a transposed number. This is where the lack of 5 stars happens. I had to use the app and manually write down each day of data for 6 months. In what digital world with an application and device like this doesn’t let you either download/export that data and/or sort and filter data over specifics times. At a minimum the application needs to allow for exporting the data so it can be used beyond what the app is designed to provide. I find it hard to believe it’s that difficult to incorporate an export function.
