Description

With GPS Race Timer you can measure the acceleration times of your vehicle.

The app supports drag races such as 1/4 mile races or speed-based races such as 100 - 200 km/h and can measure up to two times per race.
The app is designed so that it does not have to be operated while driving, everything can be set up in standstill.
The measurements are then performed automatically.
You can save the race results locally on your phone for later access.
The predefined timer settings are: 60 ft, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 0 - 60 mph, 0 - 120 mph, 50 - 75 mph, 60 - 120 mph, 0 - 100 km/h, 0 - 200 km/h, 80 - 120 km/h and 100 - 200 km/h, but you can also adjust these timers to your needs.

How to use the app:
Check the timer settings on the start screen. If they are okay, place your phone in your car so that it has good GPS reception and does not move too much, then you can start the acceleration test.
You can adjust the timer configuration in the settings screen. Then go back to the race screen and follow the instructions above.

What’s New

Version 1.71

- Export / import of your runs to a csv file which can be accessed via the Files app
- Some general stability improvements
- Note: Please make sure that the mobile phone does not move in the car during the starts. This would distort the results.

Decent, but in the end it’s a GPS based tracker

Downloaded the app just for fun to see how accurate it was. Did several quarter mile pulls. The 0-60 times seemed to be accurate. The GPS does a decent job of tracking speed. The 1/4 mile times seemed to be off by a significant margin though. My car should do a quarter mile around 15 seconds. The app is suggesting that my near bone stock civic si is a 12 second car. Not a chance. Had 100% GPS signal the whole time. If you want a decent 0-60 timer this will work well, but don’t rely on this app for super accurate quarter mile times. Overall, it exceeded my expectations as it is a GPS tracker and not an OBD2 connection so you can only expect less than perfect results.

Accuracy

Must say that this is one of the best gps race time recording apps that I’ve seen definitely seen. Only problem with any of these apps is that they will only give an estimated 0-60 but definitely a good app that has some potential for the future.

Performance Testing

This app provides standard testing like 1/4 mile time and speed, 0 to 60, 0 to 80 time etc.
It can start timing when you start to move, I like that.
One thing I really like is the ability to set settings for different “passing” speeds.
Like maybe you want to know time testing starting 10 mph finish at 70 mph, there are user setting available.
I like the app a lot!!!
