Description

Ryuusei is a detailed and quick-to-use app for AniList.co—a website to track, share, and discover anime and manga.

• Quick to Use - The Dashboard shows you all the things you're currently watching and reading, and lets you quickly update your progress and score. Home Screen widgets show at a glance when anime you're watching air next.

• Switch Between Anime and Manga - Simply swipe or tap to switch between anime and manga for the page you're on.

• See Everything - Look through everything you have on your lists, including the ability to filter, sort, and search. Use the index on the right to quickly scroll through that massive backlog you'll never get to.

• Tons of Detail - Dive into details about when an item aired, alternate titles, tags, recommendations, related items, characters and voice actors, producers, and more.

• People Too - Tap on voice actors and staff to see what else they've worked on. Tap on characters to see all the anime and manga they appear in. Add media to your list as you go. Tap on a tab at the bottom to get yourself out of the rabbit hole you went down.

• Discover New Media - See what's popular this season, and what has stayed popular over time.

• Find What You're Looking For - Search for anime, manga, staff, characters, studios, and other users. Use advanced filters to find exactly what you want.

• Get Notified - See notifications about things like new seasons or adaptations of series you follow, new episodes of currently-airing shows you're watching, likes/replies on your status messages and forum posts, and more. Plus get system notifications when new episodes of your anime air.

• Crunch Numbers - Get statistics on your anime and manga habit. Check out other users' stats and follow them if they have good taste.

What’s New

Version 2.6

This update adds system notifications for airing anime episodes, plus other improvements and bug fixes:

- System notifications for airing anime episodes! Go to the Notifications tab to turn these on if you'd like. Tap the settings button in that tab to change whether the notifications make sound or light up the screen.
- Anime on your list in the "Plan to Watch" and "Paused" statuses now appear in the Airing Schedule widget. "Paused" anime episodes always appear, while only episode 1 of "Plan to Watch" anime appears. The widget also shows special indicators for anime in these statuses.
- Fix the Origin Region selector in advanced search showing abbreviations rather than full names
- Fix a crash when expanding More Information on media detail screens after following a deep link (such as from a widget, an AniList link, or the ryuusei:// URL scheme)
- Fix the synopsis and favorite status sometimes not showing correctly on media detail screens after following a deep link

This app is fantastic!

I just tried all the AniList apps that have been updated within the past year and this one definitely has the best UI for me. I love that it has a dedicated page for updating your current watches and reads. Being able to scroll vertically through everything is really nice. So many apps make you scroll on tiny little horizontal lists as the only option. I also like the way anime and manga are organized. If I’m in anime mode, so is the app! My one complaint is that you can’t see your favorites on your profile. That would be a really nice addition.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your feedback! Profile page improvements (including seeing favorites) are on my todo list for future versions!

Excellent app

This is a great app for tracking anime and manga. It is very easy to use and I love the ui. It is consistently updated. I highly recommend this app.
There are so many cool and helpful features, but I have three requests for this app.

1. I would love to be able to click on the year of the manga or anime and I would love to click on the anime season like winter 2024 for example.

2. I would love to be able to see reviews from other users and friends plus their activity feed.

3. I would love to be able to edit my profile info plus my profile picture and background image.

Thank you for creating this app. I look forward to more exciting updates you have planned for the future.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your awesome feedback, I've got all your requests in my backlog for future versions!

It’s a decent interface

It’s nice to have a means of connecting to AniList through an app instead of using it in the browser all the time. I appreciate that it shows you on the dashboard how many days there are to the next episode.

Edit: Along with the dev response, I’ve noticed the issues I wrote down using the website in browser in addition to using it through the app and removed the issues I listed.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback! AniList.co has been having some search issues lately, they are aware and working on it (ref: https://anilist.co/forum/thread/72971). Similarly I have seen an increase in connectivity issues lately, especially on weekends. These are also due to server errors on AniList.co's side. Hopefully they'll be worked out before too long! :)
