Description

S3 Manager for AWS S3 (Amazon Web Services’ Simple Storage Service) is the simplest way to connect to your S3 buckets and to upload, download and view files on your mobile device.

- View images, documents, and play videos and audio files
- Download files to your Photo library and to the Files app
- Upload files from your Photo library and from the Files app
- Upload multiple photos from your Photo library in parallel
- Save connections for easy access
- Connect to any S3-compatible service

A large number of file types can be viewed in the app:
- All standard image formats, plus many RAW camera formats
- Play video and audio files
- All document types supported by iOS can be previewed

You can connect to any S3-compatible storage service, including any that you run on-premise. All you need is the service’s URL to connect to, which you can enter in the connection settings.

To easily share a file, you can copy its URL with a tap of a button. For files that are not public, you can copy a unique URL that is valid for 24 hours.

Security features:

When you save a connection, S3 Manager stores the connection credentials in the device's Keychain, a secure storage with built-in encryption that is managed by the device's operating system (iOS). Your credentials never leave your device, and no other app on your device has access to them.

To further improve security, you can enable authentication to protect your saved connections from unauthorized access. When authentication is enabled, you are prompted to complete Touch ID (or Face ID, if available) when you open the app.

Almost what I want

It connects to my buckets, good.
I can download and push and list and create prefixes etc, good.
I can download files and see them in my “On my iPhone” section in files, ok.

I can’t browse my buckets in files. It looks like the integration for files is based on storing files in the apps documents section and then enabling file browsing.

What I need is an app that uses FileProvider extensions to browse my buckets in the Files app without having to download the files in the app that actually connects to s3. This is not that. For $1.99 maybe it’s probably good enough. Certainly cheaper than spending the time to build an app myself. But still not what I need.

Works as advertised, just needs minor QoL changes

Works perfectly fine for regular use, although I’m not able to get the s3-acceleration dual stack endpoint working.

I also wish you could full screen the video and pictures from the preview, sometimes I need to zoom in on a picture and don’t really want to download it to my device.

Well made simple app, no idea why its rated so low.

Works but not 100%

This works but it is very slow. Also I have trouble getting it to work with large videos over 8 minutes long. It just seems to timeout or something. That being said it works better than anything else that I’ve tried.

Developer Response ,

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your review! I spent a lot of time trying to improve the speed of video uploads, but unfortunately the underlying libraries have severe performance issues that prove impossible to overcome. I am holding out for AWS and the React Native ecosystem to release updated versions of those libraries that at least provide an option to customize the relevant integration points, but for the time being, things are generally slow for larger video files. Smaller files work fine, and large ones require patience but succeed eventually.

If you have experienced slowness in other areas of the app, please get in touch and provide more details so I have a chance to improve it.

Much appreciated,
Phil
