Natta 4+

Five stars for being exactly what I needed and exactly what it says it is. I don’t need an alarm, just the ability to see the time if I desire. I can’t figure out, though, how to reach Settings, to display the date and battery status for instance or change from 12- to 24-hour display. How do I find Settings? I like that the pixels lighted are only those needed to show the information — no ghostly glow or garish glare when I look at it. (I cut an angled groove in a scrap of lumber that rests on a nightstand so my phone can lie on edge.) Now to think about other apps I’d like to see from this developer…

Edit: After I upgraded my phone noticed the the black background of Natta is not continuously deep dark. Every few seconds, it seems like a VERY dim backlight comes on and goes back off, even though the OLED screen should not have one. Weird. Reducing to 3 stars...

Initial review:
This app easily beats most - if not all - paid night stand clock apps. Very simple to operate, very clean. Love the resize feature. The swipe up-down feature for brightness is intuitive.

A few suggestions:
- For burn-in protection, I would prefer to pick a position on the screen (e.g. near top) and have the clock randomly auto-shift a few pixels left-right and up-down every 5 minutes or so.
- Would love to see a typical old-fashioned ‘digital clock’ font. This has the added benefit of each digit having a fixed width, which makes time changes less ‘jumpy’.
- Allow leading 0 before hour in 12h mode.
- I think most people will pick a color and stick with it. So perhaps better to move that to the Settings menu to avoid accidental color change when you meant to swipe.

But even without all that, this is an excellent night stand clock!

This app deserves 5 stars! No ads, no weird sign up, just the nightstand style clock. Exactly like it says. I do wish I could make it tiny bit bigger since I’m using it without my glasses at night, but that’s my own issue. This app is exactly what it says it is which is exactly what I was looking for.

Note for other new users, the settings to add the date and battery are in the settings app. Took me some digging and messing around in the app to figure it out. Developer should really note that in the description.
