Video Poker - Wizard of Odds 12+

Thank you to the developers that made this app. It’s a great tool. However my only two gripes are [1] new pay tables cannot be added; only existing ones can be edited. [2] When analyzing choices, the expected values shown for each choice is based on a bet of 1, even when I bet 5. If I compensate by editing the payout table, the E.V. will update correctly, but then the overall expected return jumps from 99.9% (for example) to 499.5%.

I wanted an app for the iPad that would let me train to play a game that’s new to me. I hate to practice on my phone because the screen is hard to see and I want to know the right holds with a little detail. I also want sound and dependable advice and some of the free apps I’ve tried told me to play holds in a way that I know is incorrect. I’m not a professional player by any means but I don’t find it fun to lose when I can just learn to play the game correctly. I will not spend a lot of time in front of the computer so it must be available for iPad or I won’t practice. I’m optimizing my recreational habit. I have not tried to change a pay table. I only stay at places that have a game I know how to play. I was happy to find this app since my old winPoker doesn’t work on the iPad any more.

Hands down the best video poker training app out there. Don’t let the ratings fool you. This is a clean, no frills app that’s easy to use and has all conceivable variants and pay tables you can think of.
