Description

The easiest and most versatile app for tracking volleyball stats for a single player; no ads, no in-app purchases, no limit on the amount of matches tracked!

If you are interested in playing volleyball in college, you will need to provide prospective coaches with information to catch their attention. Physical attributes (height, approach touch, block touch, star test timing, etc.) are only one piece of the puzzle. This app cannot help with those components. However, coaches also want information on how you play -- that includes statistics from quality games or tournaments and highlight videos that show off your abilities. This application will help you with the latter two components -- it will keep detailed statistics of your play and dramatically cut down on the time needed to generate highlight reels from game film.

BBS Volleyball Recruiting Helper was created to track stats in real-time for a single player. The simple user interface allows you to track serving statistics, serve/receive statistics, passing statistics, hitting statistics, setting statistics, digging statistics, and blocking statistics. Detailed statistics for a single player during a match are available at any time at the touch of a button. Moreover, match stats are retained in a database for easy access after each match. The application can be used to generate a detailed PDF stat summary sheet for each match played. In addition, statistics for multiple matches can be aggregated to show performance across a single day, against a particular team, during a particular tournament or across an entire season. The only limit to the number of different players and matches that can be tracked is the memory available on your device.

In addition to keeping performance statistics, another feature of this app is the Video Assistant. For each match where stats are kept, the app will also keep track of a video sync counter corresponding to key plays (e.g., the time for each kill in each set, the time for each ace serve, the time for each 3-pass on serve receive, the time for each dig, each block, etc). As a result, if you are an outside hitter or opposite, instead of watching the entire game film to locate where you succeeded in getting kills, you can jump to the time slot in each video where a successful kill took place. Similarly, if you are a setter, you can jump to the time slots for each assist you were awarded in a match. The availability of this data will dramatically cut down on the time needed to find and clip your best plays.

The app comes with a user guide accessible from the main screen. The user guide also contains some tips on how to generate volleyball highlight videos and how to communicate with prospective coaches.

Tons of bugs

Good in theory but Tons of bugs. Serve stats don’t calculate properly and the user guide won’t open. Also have to sub in and sub out your player to get it to work at times.

Developer Response ,

“Tons of bugs” is simply not accurate. User was asked to identify any bugs and never responded. No other user has identified any bugs in stat tracking. For accurate stats on playing time, you need to mark your player as in or out. That is not a bug. When your player is out, the app intentionally disables stat taking for your player. Your player cannot have attempts, kills, digs, etc when on the bench. The only stat you can record when your player is on the bench is team or opponent points. User guide display was updated to reflect changes from iOS 13 to iOS 14. An update was submitted one day after this issue was identified.
