Description

PatientKeeper’s mobile app supports physicians’ clinical workflow and provides anytime, anywhere access to aggregated clinical data from disparate backend systems. The PatientKeeper Mobile Platform overlays your existing hospital systems so physicians can easily access clinical results, view enterprise PACS images, enter orders, enter charges and perform other clinical workflows -- all from within a single app on their iPad® or iPhone®. To access data, your organization needs to be a licensed PatientKeeper customer.

This application will only work in conjunction with a hospital or physician practice PatientKeeper installation. For log in information, please contact your organization’s PatientKeeper representative or click the link below to request a demonstration.

With PatientKeeper’s Mobile Platform, physicians can:
• Enter lab, medication, diagnostic imaging, dietary, consult, and other orders.
• Enter charges for each patient visit/encounter. Easily identify visits with missing charges.
• Document clinical procedures and patient progress notes
• Securely message providers and care team members
• Review and manage an accurate, up-to-date patient list.
• Access and trend lab results from hospital-based and community laboratories.
• Review radiology, microbiology, and pathology test results.
• Seamlessly access enterprise PACS images directly from the image report within a single app.
• Review medication lists (including IV meds) and see a history of discontinued meds. Review patients’ complete dispensing history (including doses not given).
• View all clinical notes including admit, progress, consult, discharge, and operative notes.
• Review an at-a-glance presentation of temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and other vital signs as well as input/output measurements.

It’s fine

We have had patient keeper in the hospital setting now for several months. At least once a month, the app will not refresh at all for several days, and many times when it’s supposed to be up and running, there is information such as nursing notes, labs, etc that have not crossed over. As someone who frequently works weekends, this is frustrating as I’ve had to wait (at least at my facility) until the next open weekday to have it addressed and hopefully rectified. This is our portal to be able to look at records from home as well, so when getting calls from nursing staff, etc or trying to follow up from labs that were ordered prior to leaving the hospital, it has become somewhat untrustworthy to provide this service.

Poor UI/UX

Among other problems, this app constantly has unwanted pop-ups that get in the way of the work you are trying to do. I am so sick of having “are you new to this app” pop up whenever I’m trying to add a patient. (Been using PK for years). Interface is overly busy. Not intuitive. Takes numerous steps to perform many simple tasks that could be done with 1 click. Clearly whoever designed this has app has never used it themselves for the intended purpose.

Developer Response ,

Dear iphonedoc1,

We really appreciate your feedback. PatientKeeper is constantly working with physicians to improve our applications and workflows. We encourage you to reach out to our support team if you would like to provide us with feedback regarding any specific workflows in the app.

Finally, regarding the "Are you new to this app?" prompt, it can easily be turned off by doing one of the following:

1) Going to Settings->General and turning off "Prompt To Take Tour"; or
2) Hard-pressing (3D Touch) the notification and tapping "Don't Ask Again"; or
3) Tapping the notification, which will launch the tour, and then closing it and tapping "No" when asked if you are still interested in seeing the tour.

Needs work

The app needs work, causes frustration. First off, it doesn’t always prompt using face recognition to sign in and makes you type your password. If you force the app to close (swiping it away), face recognition would be enabled again, but then the arrangement of the modules would be reset. Why do I have vitals (vitals are vitals) hidden at the bottom while rest (which are useless) are at the top? I re-arrange them and then they get reset again. I really need the app to function properly so I can review the data that I need. Also if i need to review older clinical documents, I would have to click “load more” so many times in order to get one more document, which becomes a waste of time.
