Very Impressed

I recently spent about 5 hours setting up new shelving and reorganizing. I used InVintory on my phone throughout that process and was very impressed with how fast and easy it was to use. I know know precisely what I have an where everything is. The ability to access the collection via web to add details while referencing producer websites and my order history records is awesome.

All but 2 of the wines were in the database and ~90% were recognized by scanning the labels. It was easy to add those 2 unrecognized wines manually, so I still have them recorded in my collection while InVintory is reviewing for their database.

I noticed a few errors in the database while adding wines to my collection and used the “report” feature to request corrections. This leads me to my one complaint: the wine “type” attribute is not reportable. There are several wines in the database which are clearly “Sparkling” (it’s part of the bottle’s name) but they are identified as “Still” in the database. This renders the filter by wine type feature inaccurate. Hopefully this can be easily corrected.

Overall a great app, particularly for being free. The pay-only features are interesting but IMO too expensive justify for a recreational/non-professional user.

Hi there, thank you so much for leaving this review. We really appreciate your kind words and helpful feedback about the product. Adding "types" as an editable field is on our radar and will be available in the future.

Really good… but a little buggy

Overall, I love InVintory, and I use it constantly. It’s a great app, and they’re constantly improving it, so it does keep getting better. That said, I happen to use the Deliveries function a great deal - tracking en primeur orders, for example - and that function, in particular, is a mess (on the iPad version, it’s been “under construction” for months… and months… and months). Seeing info about what is waiting to be delivered - price paid, date purchased, etc. - is klugey and unreliable. And it’s frustrating that linking between vintage info, including reviews, and bottle info (re already-owned wines) is sometimes one-directional and therefore requires a separate search in “Search Wines.” Still, with high expectations that they will eventually get it all “finished,” I am confident that it is the best wine cellar app on the market bar none. And I do love the many improvements they keep making.

BTW, a small simple additional improvement would be to add a “Format” option under Analytics, so you can look through your collection by sizes if you’re planning an occasion and thinking you want the perfect magnum or d-mag or 6L for the event.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, thank you so much for taking the time to leave this helpful review. We are actually just wrapping up the newly designed deliveries feature for iPhone and iPad! It will be announced and available next week. We hope this resolves all the issues around that feature, but if not, please email us at support@invintory.com and we can take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. Thank you for your patience with us on rebuilding this feature. Regarding adding Format to analytics, I will pass that request along to the team! In the meantime, you can filter your collection on bottle size to get this list or ask the AI wine assistant Vincent to list all your larger format bottles.

Nice app but not very edit friendly

I started using the app to catalog my cellar which was not well organized. In doing so I found that if I made an error or wanted to go back and add data to an empty field the app showed its limits very quickly. Getting a wine logged is simple - scan the label and off you go for the most part. It didn’t take long to encounter a wine that wasn’t in the database. Gerard Bertrand Cap Insula Red Blend Languedoc 2017. Adding it was fairly straightforward though I only added 2 bottles which I had located first. Adding additional bottles requires starting from scratch. There should be a way to just edit the quantity field up. It can be decreased as wine is consumed but not the reverse. Also, adding multiple vintages of the same wine is a pain. I have 7 vintages of one wine and had to add each one as if it were a separate bottle. Please allow adding bottle count and adjustment of the vintage fields. I will add a star to my review.

More to come as I add bottles!

Developer Response ,

Hi Chris, we're glad to hear that you're liking the app. You can add more bottles by pressing the menu on the label detail screen and we also just added the ability to change your vintage once you have added your bottle.
