Description
A new easy way to pay your Local Earned Income Tax in Pennsylvania!
If you live in a PA district where Berkheimer is the collector, you can use this app to easily submit and file your local EIT tax returns.

Currently two scenarios are supported:
1. Submit a completed paper return.
If you have completed a Local Earned Income Tax Return, you can take photos of the return, any supporting documents and schedules, enter the amount owed or the refund amount, pay by credit card, and submit your return to Berkheimer.
2. Generate an EZ return if you only have W2s.
If your EIT Return can be completed with only W2s, then you can take photos of your W2s and enter your employer and wage information. The app will calculate your tax liability or refund. You can then pay by credit card and submit right in the app.
More filing scenarios will be added as we add more functionality to the app.

Payments
Was set up on a payment plan. Tried it for the first time , payment was completed in less than 1 minute. Will definitely use this for every payment going forward.
There was a problem
For the second time, I had to fill in all the blanks and the very last question didn’t have any choice that was my Borough. I submitted anyway because it’s the second time I’ve done this and I don’t owe anything anyway.
They should make 100% certain that everything is correct before they let people use this tool or have a choice where you can write in. It was a pulldown menu that had no other options, and you couldn’t submit until you put something in that cell.
When it first didn’t work, I called and they told me to wait till February snd the app would be up snd working. There’s no excuse; I told them the problem and it should’ve been reported and corrected.
This is rediculous!
If you file your return the old fashioned way, you fill out the paper form, stick it in the envelope Berkheimer provides and mail it with your W-2. If you file on line, you have to fill out the paper form, provide identification on line, take pictures of the paper form and the W-2, provide additional information on line and then submit. It’s significantly more effort and more time consuming than just mailing the form after it’s filled out. I tried it this year to see how it works, but I will never file on line again and I can’t imagine why anyone would, unless they are filing on the last possible day or are out of the country.
