Minimal | Writing + Notes 4+

Easy to use across iPhone, iPad & Mac, well-designed

This is the closest I've come to a notes/to-do/journaling app that works the way I'd hope. I've tried Moleskine Journey, Google Docs, and many others too briefly to remember the names, and this one works the best in terms of simplicity, sycning across devices, and pleasant UX. To-do lists are very easy, the minimal design is very appreciated, and the options for customization are just the right amount. The auto-updating of the app icon color and font to match customized settings is really nice on the iPhone and iPad. I wish I could figure out how to do this on the Mac app, if it's an option there, too. I've really enjoyed this and it does a good job of bypassing a complicated new-user orientation or accumulating note clutter, the two biggest pitfalls I've experienced with similar apps. Nothing about this app has been frustrating. Hooray for that!

So simple and easy to use it is now my number one note app.

I am one of those crazy digital dorks who tries everything. And I mean, everything. Sometimes just for fun. The world of note-taking is crazy right now. New ones are popping up what feels like every day. And this dork is tired and wanted to find a note-taking app and be done. And I did. Finally.

I have every notes app you can imagine on my mac and don't get me wrong, there are some powerful and unique apps out there, but when it came down to it and I looked at how I was actually working, I saw that the majority of the "notes" I create get to a point where they graduate and are used somewhere else after I was done. A natural progression in my workflow. Emails, blog posts, presentations, or even jotting down ideas that I wanted to get down, so I didn't forget them. But even with the spontaneous ideas, they would end up somewhere else entirely in my workflow, like Miro, ClickUp, or Things.

In the end, as I mentioned, I found my note-taking app.

The app’s great.

It has organization for all of your work, a nice hud so you can write uninterrupted, and even a way to publish your work to the web instantaneously. What’s not to love?

On a serious level, though, this app is perfect for anybody looking for a good notepad software, something that tops even Docs, in my personal opinion. If you are somebody like me who gets into the writer vibe after only a few moments at the keyboard, this is the app for you. Minimal truly gives the user what its name says, a minimalistic space to write, along with much more!

Plus, it’s free! So, you may as well try it out.
