works everywhere without a hitch

unlike other vpns I actually don’t need to wonder if it's going to work at the next coffee shop on my road trips. This hasn't let me down yet and hasn't failed to connect anywhere (ok that's a lie it failed once but their internet was so **** I couldn't even surf without the vpn on so thats fair enough). Best of all when i go abroad every month i can watch all my US shows without having to pay for yet another service. thumbs up from me

ANNOYING

So I think it’s time to find a new VPN. This app is far to frustrating. As a for instance, it just needed to be updated and this pop up kept coming up on my screen over and over and over and over telling me I had to update. I kept clicking ok and it would immediately pop up again not allowing me to do anything! I couldn’t get to the update page because of this annoying constant pop up. Also, when I’m out and don’t have internet connection, the VPN keeps trying to connect and it stops me from being able to use my cell data to check email and texts. Another annoying thing about this app. Finally, who the heck knows if it’s even doing anything. Doesn’t give you any data such as what it’s blocked etc. Far better out there I’m sure so I’m going looking for another VPN.

I apologise for the issue you experienced, it happens in a select set of circumstances.

If you turn on ‘on demand’ then your device will ALWAYS fire up the VPN any time a connection is requested to anywhere. This is what on-demand means and is there to protect you. It is also why when you are on cellular data it connects automatically. If you want manual on/off control then turn this option off.

The upgrade message is rare and we only ever need to trigger that when we make significant changes on our servers which force us to prevent the old version connecting. In this case we rolled out Dynamo+ which is usually sold to enterprise at 6 digit+ numbers. It is a significant feature that works transparently to make sure you can always connect to a server.

Because you had on demand on AND we had to force upgrade, every time the server disconnected with the upgrade message your app reconnected again.

This issue will be fixed in an update in a few days.

Regarding your final point, if you’re happy with the results there’s no need to wonder if it’s doing anything. That’s the whole point - it’s supposed to make it seamless for you. We don’t waste memory, cpu, storage, or time showing you stats you don’t really need. Larva is streamlined to do its job and do it fast and well, not as a PR machine to advertise numbers to you.

You’re always welcome to use another VPN but do remember when they spend so much effort showing you graphs and numbers what is that really for?

Started out great but then......

Well, I was very excited when I first subscribed to this service because it was working very well. But I’ve had it just over 3 weeks and all of a sudden it keeps disconnecting! I am in the middle of watching a streaming video from the internet and the screen just goes black and I am knocked out. I have to turn my pad off and then on again, then have to reconnect to the service. A few days ago it knocked me out 4 times in 1/2 hour which was extremely frustrating. And just now it’s happened three times already. I have no idea what could be causing this. Unfortunately I signed up for a year and am frankly regretting my decision.

The vpn would not cause your device to go black and reset like that. It is likely an unrelated iOS issue, battery fault or other hardware issue. You should contact Apple support for advice.
