Description

Are you a pharmacist interested in helping people improve their medication use? The Aspen RxHealth app provides access to clinical opportunities as part of our community.

The Aspen RxHealth app is the first app available to connect pharmacists with patients solely focused on clinical services. After registering with Aspen RxHealth and being accepted to the community, pharmacists will have unprecedented access to clinical opportunities. The Aspen RxHealth community is an on-demand workforce focused on optimizing medication use and creating an outstanding patient experience.

How it works:
Aspen RxHealth systematically identifies mutual characteristics between pharmacists and patients. These attributes include variables such as location, languages and clinical areas. This information is then used to better match available pharmacists to patients who have a pre-identified clinical need. The pharmacist then uses the Aspen RxHealth app to contact the patient. Once connected, the app provides an elegant workflow interface to assist the pharmacist in documenting the care experience. At the conclusion of the intervention the pharmacist simply clicks a button and directly receives payment for their services.

Great app and easy to navigate

One area of improvement will be to increase the character count in the consultation summary or “optional comments” section. This limits the info to leave for the patient concerning issues there were not resolved or adequately addressed in the medication problem section.

Stay away

I would avoid this “job” if you have any expectation of making money. Essentially, you pay Aspen $75 to skip the interview process. In the same token, you are paying for your own training (i.e., you are an independent contractor and thus, the training is on your “dime”). Most people hang up on you, and I don’t blame them (you are a strange person calling them and asking for personal information). You don’t get paid for your wasted time - only for the completed CMRs or targeted med reviews. Do you know how much you get paid if you spend over an hour on a CMR and make one documentation error? … zero! If you keep track of the hours you work vs the amount you get paid, it turns out that selling hot dogs at the street corner is a better paying job. Go elsewhere!!

Usable, but frustrating.

Pros:
- simple and easy to follow workflow

Cons:
-Can’t filter or sort patients by time zones or in any other useful way
-Can’t reschedule patients once the call has stopped
- When you reschedule a patient and press confirm, the call is immediately disconnected, leading you to hang up on them if you don’t know this ahead of time
- The dialer assist often malfunctions and doesn’t load the script or call options once ringing, so if a patient doesn’t have voicemail, the call will ring forever unless you stop the assist and then reselect patients then restart it.
- It’s hard or impossible to find some supplements/vitamin products that patients are taking, and you can’t enter product names manually (have to select from list)
- can’t copy and paste in many fields
- pop ups in app (e.g. end consultation confirmation), also keyboard when typing in patient suggestions box, do a weird thing where they disappear if you move your phone positionally, took a while to figure out why they kept disappearing.
