And a Help-Find feature to give you information about when and whereabouts your iPhone Status changed from Close-by to Missing along with an estimate of distance and walk-time plus a map ... all on your Apple Watch without needing to access a secondary device or the Internet.

Mobeleash has a few Notification statuses namely, a green coloured logo for "iPhone Close-by", an amber coloured logo for "iPhone Missing?", a red coloured logo for "iPhone Lost?". The blue logo "Open iPhone App" askes you to open your Mobeleash App on your iPhone to reconnect/look for your iPhone as it may be lost.

What’s New

Version 1.0.6

Hi Mobeleashers,

We are excited to provide you with the following new features and updates in Mobeleash v1.0.6

NEW - Mobeleash Complication
A Graphic Circular Complication1 to view your iPhone’s Mobeleash Status anytime with a quick glance at your Apple Watch face. The four Mobeleash Statues are, a Green Mobeleash logo for iPhone Close-by, an Amber Mobeleash logo for iPhone Missing, a Red Mobeleash logo for iPhone Lost and a Blue Mobeleash logo for Open iPhone App.

Note: The Mobeleash Complication is available when using the Infograph and or Infograph Modular watch faces, which are only available on Apple Watch Series 4, size 40 and 44mm.

NEW - Mobeleash Help-Find
As you know Mobeleash works by alerting you from your Apple Watch when you are leaving your iPhone behind … so you can go-get-it! If you do leave your iPhone somewhere, the Mobeleash Help-Find feature will provide you with information about when and whereabouts your iPhone went missing. How long it has been missing, an estimate of how far away you are from where your iPhone’s Mobeleash Status changed from Close-by to Missing and an estimated walk-time. This Long Look Mobeleash Notification information is designed to help you decide how best to proceed in the situation.

All Help-Find information is on your Apple Watch when you need it most, no need to access a secondary device or the Internet.

UPDATED - Mobeleash Alerting Sensitivity
We listened to your feedback regarding alerting sensitivity and with a ton more testing we tuned the alerting sensitivity.

Note: given Mobeleash’s ability to recalibrate for the confined and open settings you pass through, Mobeleash may take a short time to calibrate post Setup.

Note: when doing an Apple iOS or watchOS update you can expect Mobeleash to alert iPhone Lost given that such OS update would likely reboot the device, temporarily disrupting the Bluetooth connection. When the reboot is complete, Mobeleash will alert iPhone Close-by (assuming that is the case).

Thank you for using Mobeleash,

Not ready for prime time

I think the main problem has to do with the limitations of the Bluetooth tech; it just isn’t very good with distances and obstructions. I could go into my bathroom and get an alarm that I was away from my phone, and yet I could leave the house, get in the car and drive away before it would tell me that I had left my phone behind. Besides that, the known problems of running down the battery and interfering with the watch’s sleep function are just too much hassle – I turned it off.

Hi Bilal,
We hope you are well and thank you for your feedback. Sorry you turned MOBELEASH off. We agree using Bluetooth to measure distance etc. can be tricky but we have put a ton of work/algos into optimizing MOBELEASH's use of BT tech plus BT has advantages, like with MOBELEASH you get complete privacy i.e. no account login etc. and MOBELEASH works without data which is great for not leaving your iPhone on a plane etc. MOBELEASH's is pretty smart and will auto-recalibrate which is likely why you got less than good results as you drove off as it takes a "minute" to recalibrate to new levels of radio signal interference environments. Sounds like MOBELEASH did its job within your home re: distance/time etc. Re: your battery usage: you can check MOBELEASH battery usage on your iPhone and here are a few general battery tips we use, reduce the brightness of your screens as much as you can, we charge our Apple products every night. We hope you are able to turn MOBELEASH on again as for a one-time cost of 99 cents USD you could save yourself the trouble and cost of a new phone. Thank you, Bilal from MOBELEASH Support "don't forget your phone"

Mobeleash is a hit with me.

I wasn’t sure at first if mobeleash was going to work for me based on some of the negative reviews. I didn’t think Apple Watch would put up with an inferior product. The app works flawlessly for me on my Apple Watch 6 series.
I have a habit of leaving work without my phone.
Impossible for that to happen now. When set on travel mode, it alerts me almost immediately when I’m moving too away from my device. Works fine in the background so I don’t have to use up a complication spot on my Apple Watch. The only issue I have with it is that after my watch is finished charging overnite, I have to tap on the icon in my watch app view to turn it back on. No big deal. I’ll figure it out.

Developer Response ,

hi iamasoul, thank you for your feedback. Regarding the morning issue you mentioned ... before you tap on the icon on your watch app view, what colour is the MOBELEASH icon? Thank you for using MOBELEASH from MOBELEASH Support. Don't forget your phone!

This app is why this function is not built into iOS

I’ve been using this app for about a half year with both the iPhone X and Xs Max and it’s better than it used to be. Apple says the false positives (incorrect indication and notifications) of the function this app provides would annoy users because of the nature of Bluetooth when walking around their home and that’s why they don’t have it.

With the several updates of this app (probably tweaking the sensitivity?) it now doesn’t fail to indicate the separation of the phone and the watch but now I get several notifications, both phone missing and phone nearby and about half of the missing ones are false with the phone just a few feet away.

However, the most annoying malfunction is loosing pairing and the only way to reliably re-pair it is to delete and reinstall the app. This happens even if (as instructed) I open the app on the phone at the start of the day.

My first smart watch, the Pebble Classic, buzzed my wrist accurately and reliably every time it lost pairing because the phone was too far away.

Developer Response ,

20 Dec 2019Hi bjshourt,
Thank you for your feedback. We agree that managing Bluetooth is complicated given the wide set of variables "interfering" with the radio signal strength. MOBELEASH has several dynamic algorithm tools managing these signal strength variables intuitively allowing users to focus on their activities without having to manage radio signal calibrations themselves.
We have not experienced the re-paring issue you mention and have not had to Delete/Reinstall to "re-pair". NOTE: we do leave the MOBELEASH "App Settings" screen open on our iPhones all the time ... this has not impacted our battery life.
Hope you have downloaded the new, as of Dec 18th, MOBELEASH version 1.0.5, available in the App Store.
MOBELEASH will have new features in January 2020 and (noting your feedback) we continue our research and fine-tuning of our algorithms to manage the alerting-distance.
It is noteworthy that MOBELEASH's mission to alert users AS they are forgetting their iPhones.
