Description

The Place We Find Ourselves podcast features private practice therapist Adam Young (LCSW, MDiv) and interview guests as they discuss all things related to story, trauma, attachment, and interpersonal neurobiology. Listen in as Adam unpacks how trauma and abuse impact the heart and mind, as well as how to navigate the path toward healing, wholeness, and restoration. Interview episodes give you a sacred glimpse into the real-life stories of guests who have engaged their own experiences of trauma and abuse. Drawing from the work of neuroscientists such as Allan Schore, Dan Siegel, and Bessel van der Kolk, as well as Christian thought leaders Dan Allender and John Eldredge, this podcast will equip and inspire you to engage your own stories of harm in deep, transformative ways.

So Validating and Healing!!

I don’t even know exactly where or how I came across the app. But I remember downloading it for later. I wouldn’t listen to it for another 1 or 2. I’d see it and remember I needed to start listening to it. God’s timing is always best, when I started listening I couldn’t stop!! Here was someone that put language to what I felt, and gave permission to me to feel all the emotions I experienced from the abuse and trauma I experienced as a little girl!! It’s brought me so much healing and I’m not very far into the episodes!! I’m learning my story, I’m seeing goodness in places I hated myself in and I’m starting to see that little girl as such a brave fighter in the midst of so much fear she went through feeling unsafe for most of her life! She is a warrior!

Adam Young, you have showed me how much God cares about our pain and that His message to us isn’t “forgive and forget” like I’ve been told! He invites us to tell our story because in our story is our freedom and so much more!!

I recommend this app to everyone!!

Adam Young is monumental in the healing process

This podcast has helped me tremendously in my spiritual, mental and emotional healing process. Diagnosed with PTSD from many traumas of my past, I always felt it necessary to look over that pain, as the cliche saying goes, “let go and let God.” But all the while not understanding that embracing my story was part of the process, acknowledging the hurt and the pain has allowed submission for God to fully shower me in His grace and love. And I could not have done that without this podcast. So thank you.

I will add one thing however, with a glitch in the website, I have been trying to be a paid subscriber for quite some time now and for some reason the pages never seem to load fully for me to do so. I tried on my phone to go to the website, and tried on my laptop but there’s always some glitch with the website that doesn’t allow me to fully put in my information. Please fix this so I can become a paid subscriber. Love you all God bless!

I was recommended to listen to the attachment episodes by my therapist, and I’ve yet to find a more wholesome podcast since. Adam speaks and you can’t help but stop everything you’re doing to listen.

His sage wisdom reverberates in your body like your grandfathers voice, his steady sureness so welcoming and regulating. Truly his voice alone feels so safe, and maybe that’s me projecting, so you’ll have to see for yourself.

This podcasts brings to life what it means to feel convicted from words saturated in love. His use of scripture redeems so many years of misunderstandings and miscommunications that have harmed me (and so many others), so deeply.

I think I’ve listened to each episode at least twice and that number will be increasing as I eagerly wait for the new episodes to resume in December.

Adam & Team, thank you for all that you do. For the effort and faith in the process, for the self disclosure and this precious, precious gift to humanity. What an honor to hear the voices and stories each guest and speaker has brought.
