Ehh but the best option for cash on the spot

I wanted to wait until I paid off my first loan in full before writing a review to ensure I was fair about my full experience. Overall, I think this is a cool idea. I took out the loan when I was going through a hard time after a bad car accident and was out of work for a few months. It helped me keep up on my bills and help with my moving costs. I didn’t face the approval problems a lot of people faced. Maybe it was my credit score or the algorithm or if student in my area are good at repaying idk it was simple for me. I have had some problems with the app (ie. Setting up a payment and the app is like frozen or delays and I have to force close and reopen the app and either reset up the payment or the payment went through and I just went on with my day). I also have an issue with their hours because a lot of students (their target demographic) is available when their customer service is «available » and when I do contact Im offered pre scripted response or the bot. The last conversation I had with customer service the guy was on the edge of being rude with me when I was simply asking him to elaborate on how they report to the credit bureaus. My credit score hasn’t been going up from this service but from my other accounts that are accruing interest and I want my punctual and SUPER EARLY payment to be reflected on my report. I will update if I have a new and better outcome the second time around

Great at first? Recharge not working

When I first got it I only took out $50 because I only needed it for two days to pay my phone bill. I didn’t really know how to navigate the app so I was just going to let it auto take it out on the due date. Fast forward to around that time I saw how to pay in advance so I did that. It took out money from the pay in advance and again on the day it was due. I provided them with information showing they took out the money twice and they nicely paid it back. However since I paid off the first time I haven’t been able to use the recharge feature. It was paid off February 19th and the feature is supposed to be reopened after 5 days from then. I’m at this point not after it for money but to help improve my credit as “good” credit has 10+ open or closed accounts and each loan with them is considered an account. Why isn’t this feature working?

Update: as of March 9 the recharge now works

Developer Response ,

Hey ashwick15, our recharge list typically gets updated every other week, so please keep an eye out for a text or email from us when we are able to determine that you are available for this feature. You could also send us an email to support@getboro.com, and we would be happy to take a look at your profile further!

Great App for College Students

I was skeptical at first downloading this app because of the reviews and how many people weren’t getting approved or the app crashing. I downloaded anyways to see what the app was about. I was looking for a cash advance app to somewhat help build my credit. I put in my card information without any problems. I was approved up to $600 and I didn't even have credit. I love this app and it’s been helpful knowing when my next payments are. I try to make my payments early (2-3 days) so nothing would be considered late. That seems to work!
Advice I would give is to connect a bank that is not to brand new (at least a year older) and has frequent activity (including deposits). The way, you are approved for more.
Only negative thing about this app is it takes a while to update my spending report, which I really don’t mind because I am aware of how much I spend.
All in all, I like this app & Hopefully I will be able to recharge once I am done repaying!
