Got this way too late

My VW was stolen had no idea where it was. Unfortunately someone told me about this application 2 months too late. So I know where my car is and what it is doing but it has been repossessed and resold by the bank that said they had no way to tell me where it was months earlier . Go figure. If I had this application then would not be in the pickle an in now with this car. Was not paying for a car not in my possession. So did not want to be responsible for a car that had no idea who was driving or where it was. If I had been told about this application by VW at the time it was taken. could have recovered the car myself. Anyway the Ap is great. Am trying to find a way to sue VW as a member of the public told me about the Ap not VW. Am still wondering why their service department said "If you don't have LoJack is no way to locate your car" what was that about?

So inferior to others… not even adequate…

The Volkswagen engineers are considered some of the smartest people on earth. Engineering that has amazed me. They build some of the finest machines on the face of the earth. And then they publish (or farm out to another company) this woefully inferior car integration app. Hyundai Blue Link and others are far superior. And when I say superior I cannot stress it enough. The developers of this app should be ashamed and would be if they ever used another one. I have never seen a commercial product be so glitchy. I just tried to use it to lock the doors of our Atlas and it told me I have no cars in my garage. Later I’ checked it again and voilà the car is there.
Hopefully some manager somewhere is reading the reviews. And making changes somehow. I say that and then see reviews that mention it hasn’t changed in five years. I regret not waiting for the Hyundai Palisade to be available. You might think I am being a little bit overboard on selecting a vehicle based on their app. To some degree I am. But there are other things about the Atlas that are disappointing. Engineered very well but the value for what you get dollar for dollar is not even close to other manufacturers. One more thing the subscription is expensive compared to other companies.I’m glad we leased this time. It probably will be our first and last Volkswagen.

Useful but flawed

This app is useful just to be able to check the vehicle status and to lock the doors if I forget, but there’s a major flaw in the notifications. The app alerts you every time the vehicle doors are unlocked or the windows are open. However, it does not alert you that the doors are locked. So, if you exit the car and lock the doors, you will get a notification within a few minutes that your doors are unlocked, because you unlock them to get out of the car, but then there’s nothing to indicate that the vehicle is currently locked. So, you have to launch the app to actually check and see if the vehicle is locked. What this should do instead is only alert you if the vehicle is unlocked and the key has left the general vicinity of the vehicle. That way you would only be alerted if you walked away from the vehicle and left it unlocked, which is the only reason you’d ever want to know that the car is unlocked.

Just to give you an example, I had to get a quick service this morning at my VW dealer. So, they had the key. I got about a dozen notifications during that hour that my vehicle was unlocked, or that the windows were open, or both. Very annoying.
