Story Club: Make Your Choice 17+

Lovely!

I’ve been going around trying out smaller interactive story apps and i think this might be my favorite one. The story lines are great and i can’t wait for this app to start publishing more. the only complaint i have that stops me from giving this 5 stars is that the sprites dont look that appealing. they look like they’re from two different types of art styles, it’s a little off putting to be honest but the stories make up for the somewhat creepy visuals :-)

Racist

I was looking for light hearted fun and was happy to have found this. However, I was very disappointed in the derogatory term that I found in the tutorial. It’s 2020, almost 2021. Men of Asian descent should not be labeled as “Oriental Mochi.” Oriental is a racist and outdated term, and considering that this is from a company based in the US, they frankly should have known how problematic and politically incorrect that is.

I get that the tutorial is trying to describe boys as flavors, but given the racially charged history behind “Oriental” and the fact that there are other alternatives that could’ve been said in place of that, I found the writing to be lazy and extremely ignorant.

Please remove that term. It’s very rare that we have a dating game from the west that doesn’t emasculate Asian men or exclude them entirely, so while it’s great that my brothers have some form of representation in this game, it’s extremely upsetting that they’re reduced to as “Orientals.”

Bug?

I liked this app at first, but it seems there’s a bug. I finished all the available chapters on all but one story and decided to replay Prank Tour Ex, and try other choices that were available and receive the achievement for replaying 3 chapters. After replaying the 1st chapter of Prank Your Ex! and moving on to the 2nd chapter, it ends up replaying the 1st chapter all over again. If I go back to the home screen to try and pick the 2nd Chapter “Boiling Point” it says it’s locked. I had to wait for my bookmarks to reload so I can attempt to unlock the 2nd chapter and continue the story, but every time it says that I’ll be playing the 2nd chapter, it opens up to the 1st chapter all over again. I’ve already played the 1st. Chapter about 7 times already. Please fix this so I can finally continue this story.
