W.E.L.D.E.R. - word game 4+

So much for a migration plan...

This WAS one of my favorite games, until the Legacy version lost track of my huge pile of gigawatts and the new version - which so far looks exactly like the legacy game - insists on teaching me the rules all over again. What happened to the promised migration plan? The one where we didn’t lose our game history?

Update: I received a response from the developer, which was appreciated, but I have already deleted the legacy game and started playing the new version from scratch, so I assume all history is lost. No idea how to send an email from within the app, as directed - cannot find the ? that is supposed to be there. While I am still unhappy, in the greater scheme of things it’s just a game! Moving on...

One last update: changed my rating from one star to five, though 4.5 might be more appropriate. Love the game and the developer response to my negative review was prompt and helpful, but the transition could have gone more smoothly.

It would great if you could reply to my support email so we can get to a resolution! You can in fact restore data for the legacy app after deleting it. That’s the magic of WELDER. Migration has not been rolled out to everyone yet, but every aspect of the migration has been painstakingly built to ensure no aspect of your previous experience is lost. If you send me an email from the app, we can take care of it and get you back and running again.

Migration issue resolved; Developer’s response was great!

Two days ago I gave a rating of 2 stars due to lost data when migrating. The developer contacted me the next day and resolved my problem immediately. I must have missed a step when I originally went through the process, which was my intake, not the developer’s. It was suggested that I contact them with my concerns through email, which I did not know was an option and used the review process to hopefully get results. Again, my mistake for not doing this. This is a FANTASTIC game which I’ve enjoyed playing for years. Very challenging, and there is none other like it. I wholeheartedly give 5 stars for the best word game I’ve played. Thanks for resolving the problem so quickly and efficiently.

I’m sor­ry you are hav­ing trou­ble! I can def­i­nite­ly help you out with this. Writ­ing me di­rect­ly in sup­port is al­ways eas­i­er and quick­er to get a res­o­lu­tion.

The whole mi­gra­tion process is:
1. Cre­ate a WELDER ac­count in lega­cy WELDER
2. Mi­grate your data to that ac­count
3. Down­load the new WELDER app from the App Store
4. Sign into your ac­count in the new WELDER app
5. Wait for mi­gra­tion to com­plete
6. Play!

I'm not sure what step you might have missed, but of­ten peo­ple jump right to step 3 and don't mi­grate their data out of lega­cy WELDER, or they mi­grate their data but do not sign into new WELDER with the same ac­count.

For step 1 and 2, to force mi­gra­tion now, open the lega­cy WELDER app on your de­vice, the one with "lega­cy" in its icon. Go to the main menu, and tap Op­tions > Re­set Game > Mi­grate data and fol­low the steps there.

If your lega­cy WELDER app does not have "lega­cy" on the app icon, I can send you sep­a­rate in­struc­tions.

BEST word game…WORST dictionary

I think I’ve been playing this game for nearly 10 years and truly truly love it. That said, I waste so much game time hitting the menu button and checking to see if your dictionary will let me use a word that is in virtually every other dictionary on the planet! I play the game in the more invested. I am in my score and maintaining forward progress, the more I know I absolutely must toggle between the two screens. at the end of my last game, I scored in the top 1% globally. Clearly, I love this game and I’m giving you all five stars, but the more I become a serious player the more frustrated I am about this issue. I’ve read people’s frustrations with the upgrades, so I will not be getting those… I just really love a better dictionary!
