Description
Pocket Field Notes allows you to quickly take notes while in the field. Notes are automatically geo-tagged (location services required) and stamped with time and date. You can add pictures to notes with your device's camera (device camera required). Notes can be emailed (email client on device required) with the pictures as attachments. You can easily share with others or send to yourself, so you can cut-and-paste info into another application. You can create project folders and then add notes to it for easy management. View the geo-tagged location on a map, in a web browser (device web browser required). Ok
I like the ability to add picture but I wish I also was able to upload older ones. There is no option to have notes only attributed to a picture at a time. Overall it is a nice start, I hope the app gets more features with time.
Excellent app for field geology
Simple way to record information based upon locality. Ability to add photo and bring up a map really gives you everything you need. Email note with all info to myself to move things to a database. Very easy way to record field notes any time.
Not what I wanted
Most of the features worked great with no glitches or bugs. However, the geotagging doesn’t work and everything shows up as 0. I’ve double checked my settings to no avail. I also don’t like how you can’t upload a previously taken photo. I downloaded this app to organize my ecology notes before transferring them to paper but it was a complete disappointment.
