Description

This is Dawn, the minimal calendar to organize everything.
Designed from the ground up, it's the most minimal and powerful calendar ever created.

"Not overloaded with many features and design gimmicks like other calendars, simple and straight to the point that’s what I love. By far the best app that mixes calendar and to-do in a clean and very user friendly way." - Dawn AppStore user

"While the overall feel is clean and minimalist there is a lot more functionality than one would think from simply glancing through the features" - Dawn Early Access user

INTRODUCING DAWN

Modern Calendars are complex and bloated with features.
Dawn is minimalistic and straightforward, yet even more powerful.

• Manage everything you need to do with a single app. Not two, not three. Dawn is your central hub for remembering and getting stuff done with coexisting events, todos, reminders, dues, and so on.
• Focus on today with Dawn’s Today page, an adaptive homepage that changes as your day goes by. Quickly add tasks to your day and check off tasks you’ve completed. Dawn is the perfect everyday companion.
• Sync your calendars and reminder lists to Dawn for a seamless experience. With Dawn's Spaces organizer, you'll be able to view your calendars as lists and further sort, categorize, and filter your events.
• Introducing Spaces: innovative custom lists for you to visually organize todos and events. Group your tasks, create itineraries, manage projects, plan vacations, and more: the possibilities are endless.

Beautiful, but lacking in paid version

I love this calendar app because of its minimalistic approach and simple UI. Truly unmatched in its aesthetics and feel, minus some minor bugs that you can easily work around.

The only downside is that its paid feature of using Spaces is lacking. (“Spaces” are essentially separate calendars.) There is no option for showing all appointments for all spaces at once, which is a big inconvenience when you want to be able to review all the upcoming items you have for a single day.

For example, if you have a Space for School, a Space for work and a Space for personal appointments you can only see calendar appointments for one Space at a time, and it does not offer the option to see all spaces at once. I regret making the upgrade but if you stick to the free version it truly is a beautiful simple app.

Widgets

Was only using this because the calendar widget was solid black which matched my background. Still the most beautiful calendar small widget currently available but will be back on the hunt for solid black :/ App is alright, I find the way to add events to my calendar is more tedious than the stock and timepage calendar, it’s also the most expensive of those mentioned. I love the heatmap on the widget but on weekends it’s too transparent to see if you only have 1 event.

*Edit*
Quick fix on the widget, thank you! Pricing is cheaper than Timepage monthly but not yearly, could be some discount they are running at the time of review. I appreciate having the option for a one time purchase unlike timepage, this is the most likely purchasing option for me. I would like to see the monthly view adjusted somehow. I really like having a quick one swipe to enter month view. As well as it filling the whole page while keeping an easy way to view other months. I’m not a fan of the card that pops up when you select a day in the month view. Feels like it breaks the ux. I love the salmon color theme but it would be nice to have the option to have a custom accent color as well as a solid black dark mode as an option. I’ll look forward to the heat map adjustment. And I think the only thing I find slower when adding a task is scrolling horizontally for the time, it looks really clean though. Changing 4* to 5* because I love the developers responses to everyone :)

Developer Response ,

Hey there! I've misconfigured something for v2.1.0, I've since reverted the widgets back to solid black in v2.1.1, please give it a go again!
I'll definitely look into streamlining the add task UX as this is very important to me, as well as tweak the Widget heatmap opacities.
From what I remember though, Dawn should be less expensive than Timepage as I've purposely done this!
Thanks so much for the feedback, good day!

simplicity at its finest, honestly

i wanted to get a separate calendar app to use for all of my homework assignments for school, and i stumbled upon Dawn. the icon is what first caught my eye; sleek, simple & cute. I downloaded it & started exploring how to use it... it’s suuuper easy.

my favorite feature is sub tasks. i use the class title & week as my “Task” and then put each assignment that due for that day for that class in as sub tasks. i have a busy class schedule with a lot of assignments, so being able to keep it so organized like that is clutch.

in the Spaces section, i created a ‘Space’ for each class. i customized the icons also, i LOOOOVVEEED how many color options there were and was glad you could click on the color name and change the colors manually (at first i didn’t realize you could do that, so i was just sitting there clicking the icon & having it change to random combos for AWHILE 😅😂). once in the Space, i created a List for each week’s module and added tasks in with the name (i did not put a date/time on the tasks in Spaces because i had already made Tasks on the actual calendar part of the app)

overall, i’m super super happy with Dawn so far. lol, i literally just downloaded this app earlier tonight but still, i’m impressed. i’m NOT the type of person that usually writes reviews but i had to tonight because this app earned it.

it’s the cutest calendar a girl like me could ever ask for 💜
