The Map Marks app was designed specifically for anyone who trains retrievers. Use the app to record bird and blind placement for training setups, field trials, and hunt tests. Setups can easily be shared with friends (facebook post, email, etc).

The exact location of a mark or blind is recorded by simply pressing the Map for 1 second. You choose the type of throw for each Mark – left, right, and angle in, square, or angle back.

Any Mark, Blind, or Mat can easily be erased or moved to a new location.

Tap the settings icon to view a menu that will let you display your mark titles, distance, and your current location. Distances to each Mark and blind can be displayed in yards or meters. You also have the option of displaying the order that the marks were thrown OR picked up.

The app maintains a chronological history of your saved setups.

What’s New

Version 1.0.4

Map Marks now includes an address lookup feature. i.e the initial map screen can display an area of your choosing. This is a handy feature for trainers who prefer to record their setups at the end of the day, rather than on site.

Great useful app

Had the app about a week and find it very helpful! It shows distances in yards or meters. The mat, marks, blinds are associated with the map so they don’t move with the gps. It shows your position as determined by gps, and that varies with gps accuracy, but it is more than adequate to determine your exact location. At first I didn’t understand that the mark icon shows the fall, not the thrower. It would be nice to include gunners/throwers, so the setup would be more easily understood by someone else. (Such as wipeout marks). Thanks so much for a fantastic app!!

Hi lafetchit. Thanks for the review.
Release 1.0.3 allows you to display the arc of the throw so that you can see where the mark was thrown from.

Update maybe?

I would like the ability to add decoys (maybe round bales, etc) to my set up. As a judge it is nice to set decoys (or other factors) in your set ups. You can design a set up beforehand and then ‘tweak it’ after you get there and make necessary changes for actual wind, terrain, and other established factors, then save set up for a record to look back are later. Another useful update would be where you could not only ‘mark’ where the fall landed, but stretch the ‘arc’ to show where the ‘mark’ originated from. It already indicates the angle of the throw of course. Very useful app however for recording training set ups, etc.

The Retriever Coach

I’ve been using this app for about a month working with clients that I coach. It’s been a fabulous tool to share training setups when we’re hundreds of miles apart... whether I’m laying out the test for them or they’re sharing their setups with me for further discussion. Thank you Map Marks

Is there a way to type in an address so I can move the map to a location that I’m not physically at?

Developer Response ,

Hi Coach. I saw your request. Version 1.0.4 is now available, and includes the feature that you requested. Where are u located?
