The Update Made it worse
This use to be a good app. Last of its kind that doesn’t bombard you with ads.
Now they do and it’s worse.
They like to give you a 30 sec ad (which most apps do) but the part that Kills me is that the Ad Stalls and you have to reload the story. I wanted to see about a fire in my area and the ad stalled 3 times!! Yes I have WiFi with 200mb down. Should be enough if you ask me.
It’s not my connection, more like their app cause more frustration then I need just for 1 story.
I will be looking for other news app from here on out. Reloading ads over and over just to see 1 story won’t cut it with me. 😵💫
Notifications don’t direct correctly
Half the time, when you open a notification it just opens to the app home screen. Also, it doesn’t seem like the home screen refreshes to the latest stories.
Orange County local stories are always just advertisements for things like “7 best convenience stores in Irvine.”
Also, app stories just redirect you to the browser. I’m using the app because I don’t want to always open stories on a browser.
Missing something
You guys should really consider putting an option for watching the governors updates or watching live news. For example, when governor Newsom is giving his updates about COVID-19 you guys always tell us to head over to CBSLA to watch the rest, but what if we don’t want to watch the rest, what if we just want to watch the news and not the updates? We are forced to watch the updates, when some of us would much rather watch the stories that are being televised live.
