Expedition Users are able to add local pins for their eyes only or share them with friends. We also have given users the ability to add pins for approval just in case we missed something.

USER ACCOUNTS
With a user account, you have access to an account dashboard where you can track and save challenges, look at past tracks, scroll through your reviews, access outdoor education information, download the map for offline use, and upgrade to DackMap Expedition.

FILTER
Just looking for accommodations or hiking? Filter your map to only see the type of pins you are interested in.

PARKING CAPACITY
We’ve partnered with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Town of Keene to provide the user with live parking updates at three popular locations; the Heart Lake Program Center, Roostercomb Trailhead, Marcy Field and the Garden. When users click on the associated parking pin on the app, they will be able to see if the parking lot is empty, almost empty, half full, almost full, or full. This information is intended to help hikers make decisions about where they want to hike before arriving at the trailhead.

SEARCH
Looking for something specific? Users can utilize the search bar to zero in on exactly what they are interested in.

VIRTUAL TRAILHEAD CHECK-IN | The check-in feature will allow users to review their hike and report any trail damage in the
backcountry after they’ve scanned in at the trailhead. At select trailheads users will be able to scan a QR code to virtually check-in to their hike to help ADK and DackMap improve user experience out in the wilderness, but also on the app. This does not replace trail registers and users should still sign into the physical trail register.

North of 160th Street

Growing up I always thought that anything north of 160th Street was UpState NY.. I had heard of the Adirondacks but wasn't sure if they were in Canada or not. During college at Alfred University a friend brought me up to Inlet NY. That was it. I loved the Adks and everything about them.

Your app helps flatlanders like me get a broad perspective on so many parts of this magical place. Thanks for unlocking these 6 million acres. With DackMap a person can never be unsure what there is to do inside the Blue Line.

Decent map

Decent map of the area showing key features, but it feels like a lot is missing… links to AMR/Loj information, links/hours/availability at accommodations and eateries, trail information/reviews/conditions, etc… just seems like there could be more information there.

My chief complaint, however, is that there’a no way other than these reviews to leave feedback, and no way to delete a review in app for a mountain… reason being, I started reviewing the high peaks I’ve completed so far, and it’s put numbers on the reviews according to the order they were reviewed. I’d like to delete/reorder my reviews to reflect the order in which I hiked them, but there’s no way to do so.

Somethings wrong

A friend and I both downloaded the app but his is different. He can track hikes, I do not have that option (the red button on the map view). We both have iPhone 12s with the latest iOS. The “account” pages look different. His app has 4 buttons at the bottom, mine has 5 (same 4 + “scan”). I guess I will delete and unsubscribe because app support appears to only be through Facebook….ans I don’t do that crap. If I can’t track a hike, then this app has no use for me. It looks like it could be a decent app (at least for my friend) so I’m disappointed that it won’t work for me. Mobile hiking maps in the ADKs are surprisingly few, so the need is there. Good luck, Barkeater.
