Description

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum is excited to offer “The Badge,” the newest addition in our line-up of resources designed to connect you with our nation’s law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.

The mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum is to tell the story of American law enforcement, honor the fallen, and make it safer for those who serve. We are working to expand and enrich the relationship shared by law enforcement and the community through educational journeys, immersive exhibitions, and insightful programs.

“The Badge” mobile app brings you closer to the action, keeps you informed about happenings in the law-enforcement arena, and helps you stay engaged in our exciting collection and year-round programs. Within the virtual walls of our mobile app, you'll find stories of our earliest officers to today's heroes, artifacts from our collection of more than 20,000 objects telling the story of American law enforcement, and—most importantly—we’re proud that the app will serve as a platform for remembering the fallen officers engraved forever on our Memorial while also serving as an environment for constructive dialog that will help strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Features for this mobile app include:

Spotlight Officers - Learn about fallen heroes and their career achievements as law enforcement officers.

Search Officers - Search through our database dating back to 1794 to learn about all the heroes that put their lives on the line of duty to serve our country. Filter your searches to narrow down your results so that you can find that specific hero you want to honor.

Wonderful way to honor fallen officers.

1st being a visually impaired person I want to thank you for making this app accessible.

2. It is so inspiring to see all these heroes pictures and stories. I would recommend this app for all ages personally. You’re never too young to hear about the real life superheroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep people safe. Especially with the message our future generation is being fed at a younger and younger age.

Beautifully designed app

Thank you to the National Law Enforcement Museum for creating this so we can learn more about officers who died in the line of duty and pay our respects.

Learning about the museum has motivated us to start planning our visit!

Developer Response ,

Thanks Ed! We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you to the Museum soon!

Washington DC not included in list of states search function

Was excited to use this app. However, it still needs some work which was disappointing at a cost of $5.00.

In the search function Washington DC is conspicuously missing from the list of states!!! Really? Also no way to search anything other than the 50 states. No way for example to refine your search for Puerto Rico or for federal law enforcement officers. Very disappointing for an app that had to be bought.

Also if you do a search under a state then scroll down the only way to exit to modify your search is to select another function tab and then result the search tab. Again disappointing.

Please update the app. These mistakes are rookie programming mistakes. Inexcusable.

Developer Response ,

Hi Alan, we can't thank you enough for bringing this to our attention. There was an oversight due to how the database is organized between states and territories. The officers are in The Badge, but as you pointed out can not be searched by location. We will have it fixed soon and update you when we do. Thank you again! - Museum Team

Update: Alan, we are excited to share that The Badge has been updated to include all Territories and Federal Agencies. All of the Federal Agencies can be found by searching District of Columbia in the States/Territories filter. Thank you again for your feedback.
