We here at AlelinApps feel very strongly about keeping horses healthy. That is why we came up with Hot Horse. As things get warmer, we worry about over working our friends. When it gets colder, we want them in top condition and ready to work with proper blanketing. We don't sell horse blankets; we have no reason to recommend anything we don't honestly believe in. We use this app as much or more than our customers. We are right there with you.

Blanketing has been another bane for the horse owner. What blanket should we put on tonight? Does my baby need one to be turned out for an hour or two? What is an LCT? Hot Horse will help. There are many scholarly articles out there, but how to account for everything all the time? Hot Horse will apply consistent standards to give you the confidence in your decisions. You should still evaluate your horse, and the blanket recommendation and adjust it accordingly.

Hot Horse is using a new weather provider. The older versions will continue to work for until January 31, 2022. Please update by then.
Another Huge Hot Horse Update! The index system has been changed to provide the WetBulb Globe Temperature Index (WGBT Index) which is the preferred heat index system for Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) - FEI.org, and is used for all Olympic Equestrian Events as well as any other FEI sanctioned competitions.
New to 2.5, there is now a companion watch app as well. AlelinApps is proud to have all possible feature parity. This will support Apple Watch 3 and above, on WatchOS 7. There are complications for every face!
The Hot Horse data engine has been fully reworked and improved, from getting your weather data, to displaying it on the screen. Reliability has been improved.

2.5.4 - Recalibrated shade settings for more accurate heat indexes inside. Also prevented dynamic type from making the temperature and humidity too large to read in the current heat and blanket circle.
2.5.3 - Fixed issue where Daily Heat would be stuck to the center making it difficult to see the first and last day.
2.5.2 - Fixed bug preventing Apple Watch user from accessing complications if they were not subscribed. Fixed minor data bug for complications. Other complications enhancements. Other code reductions to make app size smaller and more responsive.
2.5.1 - Fixed intermittent bug from iCloud sync, added "iCloud Sync Status" to settings to help troubleshoot any issues there, fixed minor bug in current location button.

Good app
Good app wish there was a clipped horse toggle like the run in toggle option. Otherwise like how simplistic it is.

We wanted to make sure you were aware that you can add your own horse to Hot Horse, and designate that horse as being clipped (as well as age, body condition, etc.) to further customize the recommendations. You can find the instructions for this on the Settings page which is accessed by the Gear icon in the upper left corner. Our email is at the end of the instructions should you have additional questions. Also, please let us know if you have any suggestions as we are always looking to improve Hot Horse. We have horses too, and use Hot Horse ourselves.
Easy to use
I love this app! No wasted time debating with myself about whether it’s too hot to ride or what type of blanket my horse needs to have on. As a working mom, this app helps me more easily plan rides and quickly determine blanketing in the winter.
Doesn’t ever work
You know, I’d be more inclined to give this a better rating if it ever freaking worked. All it ever does is show grey spaces and no weather information. Then it says “it’s running very slow, please be patient” and then it’ll say “try again later”. Only seems to work about half the time.

I regret that you are having that issue. That is a symptom of a connection problem between your device and the internet. The complete message is "The network is running very slowly. Please consider checking later." Please contact me and we can see if we can work through whatever issues you are experiencing.
