Ameelio Mail: Photos to Prison 4+

My brother told my about this app, and honestly I only thought I would be sending a picture when my brother asks. But then a few days ago, I said to myself, this would be a great way to keep him updated with what is going on with the family. I use to write him letters as a kid, but writing a letter, going to the post office, and getting stands and envelopes was such a hassle. Plus stamps are expensive! This way, through Ameelio, the road to connection is so much more convenient and simpler. I can just open the app, write a letter with some pictures and then click send. Maybe it’s less intimate than writing on physical paper, but for me, it increases the odds dramatically of me staying connected with my brother. It’s been years, possibly even a decade since I last written a letter. With Ameelio, I’ve written 3 letters in the last 2 months. So thank you Ameelio for helping us keep connected. I appreciate the weekly free letters. I think my only complaint is that when I created my account, I accidentally wrote the wrong prisoner address and was told I’d have to make a new account to “fix”. Bummer. Please fix that to allow users to edit prisoner addresses and changing my email! I’m scared to log out of my current account because I’ll lose access to my memories.

Oh my gosh thank you Emilio you help me stay in contact with my mom

I love this app because I can keep in touch with my mom who is in person it’s really great yes I do get phone calls from her but still when you can’t send something to her and it takes weeks even months Emilio only takes 7 to 10 days I know it may seem like a long time but once they get it it’s so crazy now here’s what I think you should download it you can keep in touch with your relative this is not just one of the fake people who didn’t even use the app this is a real person and this was very helpful I can finally keep in contact with my mom so thank you Emilio I really appreciate it so much you may not be Reading list but please do if you have a family member in jail or prison keep in contact with him not even and not just call thank you for reading this now sent that I have on my name if you fax do you want me to know more if you don’t you can click onto the next review if you do say in this review OK you decided to stay that’s good well it’s great I love my mom dearly and I don’t always get phone calls from her so thanks Emilio goodbye❤️

Why does the app not work?

I’ve had this app for a little less than a month and every single time I get on it, it tells me that the app is temporarily down, that it’s received too many user requests and needs time to cool down and for me to try again later. It does not matter what time of day or night I attempt to get on. It doesn’t matter where I am in my home or at work, or if I’m connected to wifi or not. I’ve restarted my phone, cleared the app and tried again, as well as continually looking to see if it needs an update and nothing is making it work. I can’t see anything I’ve sent, or even if I’ve sent anything successfully because nothing will load. I would love to use this service and I try to every day. But it just won’t let me. Is there a known issue with it or is it just mine?

Hi, I’m so sorry for the frustration and that we haven't been able to respond yet! We’re a small nonprofit of 15 people serving 350,000+ users, so we’ve experienced a lot of growth in a short time. For the past couple months we’ve been focused on making free video communications a reality in a couple of states, but we finally had the chance to address the problems with the Letters system. Could you please try deleting and reinstalling the app?
