Kichler Connects
Digitally control your landscape lighting from your smartphone or tablet in minutes with the Kichler Connects ™ app. Designed to work with our Kichler® Smart Control Timer, this app allows you to utilize one of our preset lighting schedules, or create custom schedules of your own. Preset schedules can align with your location, dusk-to-dawn, and adjust to daylight savings time– allowing you to be in control of the beauty of your outdoors.
Easy to use and install, the Kichler Connects App:
- Connects to your Smart Control Timer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
- Create customizable or select easy preset on/off schedules
- Select cloud and location-based control, including astronomical scheduling, to align with the daylight savings hours and the changing seasons
- Voice control via smart home devices for whole-home integration

- For use with low-voltage landscape lighting transformers (compatible with most styles)
- On-board memory to control your lights even if your Wi-Fi connection is interrupted

Winner of the award for worst UI
I can only guess that the person who designed the UI enjoys puzzles as a hobby. The app is needlessly complex for doing the simplest tasks, such as setting a timer for turning outdoor lights on and off. Way too many steps, forcing you to navigate through mysterious options, only to have the lights not turn on or off because you did something wrong…The user experience is so bad that it’s actually kind of hilarious, if you can escape the frustration for a minute.
The latest twist: something, I would guess a software update, made the automation disappear. The lights still turn on and off, but I can’t make any changes to that automation. I created a new scheme, in the hopes that the invisible old automation won’t interfere with it…Oh, the anticipation!
Scheduled presets
The issue identified by a reviewer a year ago still has not been addressed. I spoke with customer service who indicated it was a known issue. Would be great if the company could get the product to work properly.
Terrible UI
One of the worst apps I have used from a UI perspective.
Also failed for no reason and I had to reconnect.
If I had not spent $65 for the hardware, I would just trash it.
