Description

Space! Dexter Stardust barely escaped when the Vreesians, inhabitants of the menacing Planet X, sent a fleet of robots to destroy all life on Earth. Now, twenty years later, a mechanical man from the 10th planet seeks to communicate with Dexter a very important message - he is the key to saving both humans and Vreesians! Play the taco-loving Dexter Stardust as he, and his good friend Aurora, go on the greatest adventure of their lives and discover the mystery of the Robot from the Planet X!

Dexter Stardust was illustrated, animated, written, scored, SFX'd, and programmed by one person, Jeremy Fryc. Even so, the characters are voiced by his friends, Munk Alejandro, Lola Mendez, and Alec Corday - who helped create the characters way back in 2012 on a warm afternoon in the Dominican Republic. 10 years later, we finally have... Great game with perfect difficulty curve

I often get frustrated with point and click puzzle games. I have a tendency to skip past small details in a scene and never come back to pick up the key item that gets me past a certain puzzle. However, with Dexter Stardust, this wasn’t a big issue. Episodes 1-3 and 5 were a breeze. Episode 4 was tough. One tip I have for new players is to turn on the director’s commentary if you are struggling. Not only is it great to hear the director himself explain the design choices behind scenes, but often he’s there to give just the right clue at the right time. The whole game took me 5 hours to complete, and I didn’t need to search up a walkthrough. One piece of feedback I have is adding a feature in which the player is notified if there is a key item they haven’t picked up in the room. I often miss a tiny piece of paper or small detail and it gives me 30 minutes of grief.

Thanks for playing! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it over. Good feedback -- on Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, and Linux there is a physical button you can press to reveal any hotspots, but this isn't the case on mobile, since that function isn't mapped to a UI element. It's a great idea though and one I'll keep in mind. I appreciate you letting me know what can be improved! - Jeremy

Excellent game!

I found this game to be very enjoyable! The way the story was written was flawless. Jeremy your imagination with the story, the characters, the voice actors, the sound/music and the graphics were very well done! (I don’t think I left anything out?) I WISH I had your imagination…If anyone out there is looking for a fun and well done “point and click” adventure game, then folks you will not be disappointed with this one. Who am I to judge? I played “Pong” when it first came out AND I have played almost every “point and click” for the past 50 plus years. Jeremy I look forward to playing your other games that will be coming out in the near future. And thank you “So much” for spending a little time to help me out with my gaming questions that I wrote you through email.
Best of the Best to you!

Thanks for playing! So happy to hear that you are enjoying Dexter Stardust. Yep! Working on two games actually; the direct sequel to this one and another that's in the same universe. :) - Jeremy

Such a great game!

The story was awesome, and the gameplay was fun! Perfect combo! I only needed a walkthrough a few times, and every time it was because I had forgotten something I learned or saw from earlier in the game and it made me go “Doh! Oh yeah!”. Everything makes sense, there’s no wandering around aimlessly only to figure out that the solution you’re looking for is some random item or interaction that nobody would have ever thought of. If you have a good memory, you probably won’t need a walkthrough at all. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy! It’s a perfect amount of difficulty without being completely frustrating.
I just want to know WHEN the sequel will be here! I’m dying to get back into the story!!
Great job, developers. You nailed it!!

Thanks for you review. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed and were able to make it all the way through. When I was developing the game and bug-testing, sometimes I would have to look at the checklist to see what I had to do next lol. And yes; I'm working on a direct sequel Dexter Stardust: Returns to Outer Space (Q4 2024) and The Abandoned Planet (Q1 2024), which is another game in the same universe. Keep an eye out for both. - Jeremy
