Description
A simple diversion for the iPhone and iPod touch.
FireworksToy is a very simple little application that displays fireworks on your iPhone or iPhone touch. Start the application and enjoy your very own soothing fireworks display.
The fireworks respond to gravity. No matter how you orient your device, the fireworks will always fall "down".
Tap on the screen and a firework will be launched towards the location you tapped.
Drag your fingers across the screen and dozens of colorful fireworks will be launched towards the path your fingers traced.
TIP: use your device's built-in Safari browser along with your favorite search engine to find images of your favorite cities or landmarks at night. Next, you can tap and hold on the pictures to save them to your camera roll. Now they'll be available to use as backgrounds in FireworksToy!
PLEASE NOTE: FireworksToy was originally created as the victory overlay for Mü but Steve thought that it was fun enough to play with that he decided to also release it for FREE as a stand-alone application. We realize that this is hardly a top-tier application but we thought that making it available for FREE would be a NICE gesture. Those of you who are expecting more should probably look elsewhere. To the rest of you: we hope you enjoy playing with it!

On the iPad, FireworksToy now works in any orientation. (Use the rotation lock button if you want to stop the background from rotating when you hold your iPad upside down.)

Weak but does what it claims
Frankly, this app barely rates two stars, but it is up front about what it does and actually delivers on its modest promises, so it defensibly earns a three. There are a lot of shortcomings, not the least of which are the total lack of customizability, sound, and worthwhile graphics. Forget HD, this is barely SD. The demo images represent the best possible view of the app; your mileage may vary considerably.
That said, the app description is accurate and truthful; for an app that wasn't originally designed to stand in its own, it's not bas, and it doesn't pretend to be a top shelf app.
If you're looking for an app that lets you play with fireworks by mixing and matching, this isn't your app. Go get FireCraft or something. For those who just want a quick fireworks show to superimpose over a photo, then go ahead and get this. Just make sure that the photo you choose is dark; even dusk photos are generally too bright.

Mesmerizing! Absolutely mind blowing! The first time I was able to indulge in this addictive visual display of beauty, I was stuck on the screen for who knows how long. I remember being up and about that week telling everyone about the app. I appreciated the colors, the shapes, size, and every single sizzle, twinkle and sparkle throughout the entire show he programmed. I consider the app to be a vivid burst of eyeball happiness. It had to have been a scientific breakthrough or a proud historic point for the entire human race. iPhones were already great, but now they have the ability to put on a world class fireworks display right on top of any choice background that I desire. That's the American standard of Intelligence, Ingenuity and authentic craftsmanship! This Invention is worthy to be proclaimed a masterpiece of unmatched talent. As for myself, I believe it is genius above the average levels of anything close to or beyond man's comprehensive ability.
it is ok......
but you have to have a background or it will just be a black screen. You cannot have multiple fireworks at once, and you must press where u want it to be
