Description

A collection of some of the best known Gods and Goddesses of Paganism.

"Paganism" refers to a range of spiritual paths. These are generally Neopagan religions based on the deities, symbols, practices, seasonal days of celebration and other surviving components of ancient religions, which had been long suppressed.

Paganism refers to the authentic religions of ancient Greece and Rome as well as surrounding areas. It originated from the Neolithic (Stone Age) era. The term, pagan, is derived from the Latin word, paganus, which means a country dweller. The pagan usually has a belief in many gods (polytheistic), but only one is chosen as the one to worship which represents the chief god and supreme godhead.

Many Pagan deities are associated with various aspects of the human experience, such as love, death, marriage, fertility, healing, war, and so forth. Still others are connected to different phases of the agricultural cycle, the moon, and the sun. Read more about the different Types of Pagan Deities, so you can figure out which ones you'd like to try working with, depending on your personality and your magical goals.

pagan deities 1.0

Needs an update. One of the missing important Egyptian deities this app is missing is the Dwarf God Bet. Bet is the Dwarf God whose theme is "the child is protected". I only know this because I read a book called "the game of 30" which several Pharaohs playedand a complete set was found in King Tut's Pyramid. One of the Gods on the board was Bet so Bet was important enough to get on those boards.

The information is very basic and some of it is not correct. But it also gives you enough information so that if you seriously curious you have a reference to start your research

⚠️Do not fund cultural erasure & misinformation!!!

Is the app gaining $$ while being incomplete?

I keep finding things wrong with the information. You would be better off starting with Wikipedia because this isn’t even a good app to use for reference.

Many of the gods lists are not pagan gods but spirits (especially from ATR, Indigenous cultures). “Celtic” is not just one culture or one part of the world. Macha does not mean Crow.

Looks like some entries were worked on a lot and others literally did less than the bare minimal. Many gods not even listed at all.
