Description

"If you like heinously difficult AI in an abstract board game scenario, The 7th Guest: Infection is a must have." - Eli Hodapp, TouchArcade.com

Trilobyte Games has re-built the wickedly maddening “microscope puzzle” from The 7th Guest. Re-imagined expressly for the iPad, The 7th Guest: Infection is a strategy game for two players or for single play against the mad genius, Henry Stauf.

Easy to play, but ever-challenging and difficult to master, this new version of the classic game takes advantage of Apple’s Game Center™, enabling you to match your play against friends and other players worldwide.

Features
• Rich graphical environment with intuitive and engaging game play
• Play head to head with friends
• Play against Stauf himself... if you can withstand his maddening taunts
• Seven difficulty levels. Few will beat Ol' Uncle Henry when he is at his best.
• Original soundtrack by MazeDude
• Integrated Game Center

The Story
Old man Stauf built a house and filled it with his toys. Or so the legend goes. It is said that one of these games could be found by entering the madman's laboratory and peering into his microscope. The germs and microbes there seemed to be imbued with his spirit and intelligence. It is also said that perfectly sane people who attempted to beat him at his own game went completely, absolutely, stark raving mad. Trilobyte has brought the microscope to you, giving you the opportunity to take up the challenge. But you play at your own risk. You have been warned.

Great game!

This is a remake of the classic microscope game from The 7th Guest, and it looks and plays great. Be warned, the AI will not go easy on you, it's quite challenging! If I had one complaint, it would be the audio. The great slurping sound the amoebas made when they split is gone, and on top of that the new music really doesn't feel like it fits in The 7th Guest at all, I'd have preferred they kept the original music by The Fat Guy in instead. One good thing about the audio however is the return of Stauf, I can't believe they got the original actor to come back and record new taunts, what a great addition! Overall a fun and challenging game.

The Star Wars of The Puzzle Genre Returns Triumphantly

Fans of the Microscope puzzle rejoice. This puzzle, often thought of as the best puzzle AI computer experience ever invented, has been triumphantly resurrected in a special edition form, here, which more completely realizes the vision for it for Rob Landeros and Graeme Devine than was possible upon its original release within the 7th Guest. Multiple difficulty levels, better graphics, new Henry Stauf taunts and better, higher fidelity sound effects from the microbes than the original classic. If this release is to be a sign of things to come with a future sequel to the 7th Guest, provided continued strong support of this special edition and all of the other re-releases by the fans, it is clear that Uncle Henry is in excellent hands. Or ours in his. Very, very well done.

If I Can Beat Ol' Stauf, You Can!

I just picked up an iPad and finally got to play The 7th Guest: Infection. I managed to beat Old Man Stauf on the 2nd level, but after that it just gets extremely difficult to beat the AI. Mad props to the few that can pull it off at the most difficult level. The design work that went into this little app also sets it apart from the more generic abstract puzzle games. You'll really appreciate the new Stauf taunts if you've played The 7th Guest before. So if you're really good at puzzles and you're smarter than me (which you probably are), then pick this one up. You'll get mad at Stauf, but it feels good when you finally get even with him. Or you can just play a friend.
